“W-what is this?!” Hajime Fitun gasped in pain.
Vandalieu’s blood that had scattered across the field, the severed pieces of his flesh and the stains all over Hajime Fitun’s body turned into a crimson mist. As it did, a violent pain ran through Hajime Fitun’s entire body.
Hajime Fitun screamed in agony. He sensed intuitively that this was different to the pain from the ‘Curse of Consequence of Action.’ It was the same pain as that inflicted by the attacks that he had received from Vandalieu up to this point, which possessed the effects of the ‘Divine Enemy,’ ‘God Devourer’ and ‘Soul Devour.’
Up to this point, Hajime Fitun had ignored the damage taken from Vandalieu’s attacks, thinking that victory would be his as long as he could kill Vandalieu one second before his own death. Even though his flesh was gouged out, his bones were cracked and his organs were crushed, he was still able to continue fighting, so he had not cared about his injuries.
This was because Fitun had granted Hajime Fitun’s body his divine protection, trained it and activated ‘God Transformation.’ Its potential and the potential of his own soul was very great, and he possessed extreme fortitude.
But this is bad! At this rate… I’m going to be killed!
Feeling the damage being inflicted upon him by ‘Bloodlust,’ he was absolutely certain of this.
“The ‘Bloodlust’ that we were told about! I thought he wouldn’t use it because of the direction of the wind, but this is how it ends up playing out! Misa, you can block it, right?!” Murakami ordered Misa in a rough-sounding voice as he leapt away from Hajime Fitun.
He and his companions already knew about ‘Bloodlust.’ That was exactly why they had thought Vandalieu wouldn’t use it in an open outside space, especially with the wind blowing towards Kanako and the others.
They hadn’t expected Vandalieu to turn that open outside space into a closed one using ‘Dead Spirit Magic’ with space-attribute Ghosts that they had no knowledge of.
“I think I can, but can’t I just put up a magical barrier?” said Misa, who had already turned her entire body into vapor, as she kept the crimson mist away from Murakami and Akira.
Even avaricious, carnivorous micro-organisms could not consume air. Thus, Misa was immune to ‘Bloodlust’ in her current state.
But using her vapor-transformed body to protect Murakami and Akira from ‘Bloodlust’ was equivalent to doing high-intensity full-body exercise, so she was being rapidly fatigued. That was why she suggested using a spell to protect them instead.
But Akira shook his head, his face completely pale. “It’s no use. Vandalieu will negate it right away with his ‘Magic Absorption Barrier.’”
His ‘Odin,’ which allowed him to accurately predict the future several seconds ahead, was an ability that allowed him to see what he would see in several seconds’ time. Thus, he was unable to predict things that were invisible, but as long as he kept his target within his view, he could almost perfectly predict what that target would do and what would happen.
“B-‘Bloodlust,’ you… say?” Hajime Fitun muttered.
Unlike Murakami and his companions, he had separated himself from Alda’s forces in order to have this battle to the death against Vandalieu. Thus, he did not know anything about the ‘Bloodlust’ that Vandalieu had used in Alda’s ‘Dungeon of Trials.’
However, he was aware that it was an extremely dangerous attack.
Before using this ‘Bloodlust’ thing, he made preparations to ensure that the guys downwind wouldn’t get caught up in it. That means it’s not something on the level of a disease or poison that can be dealt with by the ‘Status Effect Resistance’ Skills or Potions! he thought. I don’t have time to have everything explained to me! First, I need to somehow cut through that space wall…
“It’s no use! What you’re planning won’t work!” Akira shouted immediately in warning, having seen several seconds into the future. “You too, Murakami! That wall of space won’t be broken by something like that!”
He had seen Hajime Fitun and Murakami both try to break through the wall of space and fail.
Fitun didn’t know how accurate the future-predicting ability of ‘Odin’ was, but Hajime and Murakami, who were both reincarnated individuals, did know. Both stopped their attempts to attack the space-attribute Ghosts and the semi-transparent wall of space with their weapons and spells.
“Then what are we supposed to do?!” Murakami demanded.
“I’d really like to know that myself!” Akira said in panic.
‘Odin’ allowed him to see several seconds ahead into the future but didn’t do anything more than that; it did not give him the correct answers to his problems. Even though he had seen the future where Murakami and Hajime Fitun’s attempts to break through the wall failed, he had to think on his own to think of a way to succeed.
“Those are carnivorous microbes; they’ll devour you if you touch them!” Akira warned.
“Microbes? … Ah, Hajime has knowledge of them. Then this should work!” said Hajime Fitun.
With his entire body still being consumed, he recited an incantation with incredible concentration to cast a spell.
“‘Great Lighting Explosion Sphere!’”
Hajime Fitun slammed an electrical, exploding sphere towards his own feet. Naturally, lightning immediately began flying in all directions. Murakami, having been given a hand signal by Akira, defended himself immediately. But the ‘Bloodlust’ was defenseless as it was scorched by the lightning.
Microbes were weak to electricity. Having learned this from Hajime’s knowledge, Fitun had thought to neutralize ‘Bloodlust’ with this attack.
Indeed, after the violent lightning stopped, the crimson mist faded, and Vandalieu was visible once more. With Hajime Fitun’s own body having been exposed to the lightning as well, he felt his pain fading.
“Hmph,” he smirked triumphantly… but in the next second, he screamed as once again he felt the excruciating pain of his entire body being attacked by ‘Bloodlust,’ and pieces of his soul being scraped away and devoured. “I-it’s didn’t disappear?!”
The crimson mist rose from the ground, re-blocking the path between Hajime Fitun and Vandalieu.
“That’s why I told you, it’s no use!” Akira muttered.
“Y-you stupid god!” said Misa.
“… This ‘Bloodlust’ is an attack that transforms a part of me into carnivorous microbes. But just because they’ve transformed doesn’t mean they’ve stopped being a part of me,” said Vandalieu. “I possess the ‘Magic Resistance’ Skill. Did you really think that all of these pieces of me would be wiped out by a magical attack of that level?”
Indeed, even though the carnivorous microbes were now out of Vandalieu’s control, ‘Bloodlust’ was like a swarm of microscopic Demon King familiars. Thus, the ‘Magic Resistance’ Skill he possessed applied to them as well.
The small number of surviving ‘Bloodlust’ microbes then divided and multiplied… using the nutrients they had gained from consuming Vandalieu’s blood that had spilled everywhere in large quantities, the pieces of his flesh, and Hajime Fitun.
It hadn’t even been worth using ‘Magic Absorption Barrier’ to prevent Hajime Fitun’s futile struggle.
“‘Spring Breeze of Regeneration!’” Hajime Fitun shouted, casting a healing spell on himself. “You bastards, do something! If you don’t, I’ll use my power to purge this entire place along with you traitorous sons of bitches!” he screamed, directing his bloodthirst at Murakami and his companions.
He still had sufficient ability for reasoning that he was warning them rather than destroying them on the spot, but his bloodshot eyes clearly showed that he was at his wit’s end.
“Damn it, what’s the use in threatening us!” Murakami cursed, but still trying to look for a way out of the situation at the same time.
The reality was that at this rate, if he and his companions didn’t do anything, they would end up being devoured and killed by ‘Bloodlust,’ even if their deaths would be slightly after Hajime Fitun’s.
Should I just give up and kill myself? If I only need to worry about myself, I’ll be able to do something with those guys’ powers… No, should I try this? Murakami thought as a plan suddenly came to him.
He glanced at Akira to confirm whether this plan would succeed. Seeing Akira nod, he hardened his resolve and broke into a run.
“‘Super Rapid Reaction,’ ‘Surpass Limits’… Vandalieu! I challenge you to a battle!” Murakami shouted towards Vandalieu, drawing Vandalieu’s attention towards himself.
And then he leapt into the crimson mist of ‘Bloodlust’ that was directly in front of him.
Vandalieu thought that Murakami had given up in despair, but quickly began moving once he felt the presence of death increase sharply and realized that ‘Bloodthirst’ was not devouring Murakami.
“‘Whip Tongue,’ ‘Screw Projectile,’ ‘Death Bullet,’” he murmured.
He extended his tongue like a whip, threw knife-shaped horns of the Demon King and cast ‘Death Bullet.’
But his tongue and the horns of the Demon King’s, which he was certain would hit Murakami as he charged through the crimson mist, passed straight through his body.
“Magic!” Murakami muttered.
The ‘Death Bullet’ projectiles silently slipped through Murakami’s body in the same way.
Seeing this, Vandalieu thought of one thing. “‘Gungnir!’” he murmured.
‘Gungnir,’ the ability possessed by Kaidou Kanata, which had allowed him to pass straight through target objects of his choice. Murakami had pretended to shout Vandalieu’s name out of sheer anger, but he had actually selected ‘Vandalieu’ and ‘magic’ as targets for ‘Gungnir.’
“You’re going to get hit!” Akira shouted at Murakami in warning.
Why was Murakami able to use ‘Gungnir?’
“‘Consecutive fire,’” Vandalieu murmured, deciding that he didn’t have the time to think about that right now.
He threw more horns of the Demon King… and an iron throwing knife, created from thin air by ‘Golem Creation.’
Akira’s warning had come a moment before Vandalieu’s attacks, but Murakami was unable to make use of that warning.
As the Demon King, the Demon King’s fragments were a part of Vandalieu himself. Thus, by designating Vandalieu as the target for Gungnir, Murakami could pass straight through the fragments, just like Vandalieu’s tongue.
But that did not apply for the iron throwing knives mixed in with the Demon King’s horns. It did not miss its mark, and Murakami groaned as it buried itself in his stomach… but perhaps because it was hastily made and not sharp enough, or perhaps because it had not reached Murakami’s internal organs, Murakami continued charging forward.
This is difficult to deal with, Vandalieu thought to himself.
Unlike Kanata, who had tried to keep his distance as they fought, Murakami was challenging Vandalieu in close-quarters combat. Since he had designated Vandalieu and magic as the targets of ‘Gungnir,’ Vandalieu could not repel him with the magic, ‘Unarmed Combat Technique’ and fragments of the Demon King that were his main weapons.
In his current state, Murakami was also unable to damage Vandalieu, so he would likely undo ‘Gungnir’ when the time was right.
He is hoping that undoing the ability while his spells or weapon are passing through me will destroy my body from the inside… and the great damage caused by that will undo either ‘Bloodlust’ or the spatial isolation, Vandalieu thought with the ‘High-speed Thought Processing’ Skill.
He took the Gyubarzo staff that was on his back and swung it in a wide arc towards Murakami as the distance between them was closed.
It was a fast movement, and the strength behind the swing was equivalent to the attack of a Colossus.
“Stop!” Murakami shouted.
The attack with the Gyubarzo staff, the movement of Vandalieu’s arm, was stopped by the ‘Death Scythe’ ability of Konoe Miyaji – another reincarnated individual whose soul Vandalieu had destroyed in the past.
Vandalieu was caught by surprise.
Considering that Murakami possessed ‘Gungnir,’ the possibility that he possessed ‘Death Scythe’ had occurred to Vandalieu. However, it was the movement of Vandalieu’s heart and lungs that had been stopped by ‘Death Scythe’ in the past. He had not realized that ‘Death Scythe’ was a deceptive name for the ability, which was a broadly-applicable ability that stopped the movement of any object.
Kanako, Melissa and Doug were aware, but Vandalieu had not thought to ask detailed questions about the ability of a reincarnated individual whose soul he had already destroyed, and Kanako and the others hadn’t thought to explain it to him, either.
The shocked Vandalieu stood there with his staff still raised, unable to swing it down.
Murakami smirked, and nobody could blame him. “You fell for it –” he began, but in the next moment, he groaned and suddenly collapsed to his knees.
“You are the one who has fallen for it,” said Vandalieu.
“P-poison? Why, how…?!” Murakami said hoarsely.
He tried to get up, but all the strength had left his body and would not return.
“I secreted a deadly venom from my tongue and released it in my breath,” said Vandalieu.
It was an extremely deadly venom that Vandalieu had secreted naturally with the ‘Deadly Venom Secretion’ Skill; the ‘Poison Resistance’ Skill at any ordinary Level would have no effect against it. Like sweat or tears, it was something that Vandalieu had secreted, and not a part of Vandalieu himself.
And standing next to Vandalieu was a beautiful girl made of dark-colored water with a very unusual lower body.
“That’s how it is!” said the water-attribute Ghost that had appeared, Orbia.
She swept the now-immobilized Murakami away with the tentacles of the lower half of her body. She was physically striking him using ‘Materialization’ on herself rather than using ‘Dead Spirit Magic.’ Thus, this attack was not a magical attack that Gungnir would currently target.
Naturally, ‘Chronos’ could not delay this attack, either.
Orbia was likely visible from the watchtowers, but… Vandalieu decided that he would just come up with some suitable lie to play it off.
“I couldn’t see it. Damn it, he’s already seen through my ability, so he’s using attacks that are difficult to see with the naked eye!” Akira shouted in surprise.
“That’s a water-attribute… You were holding back!” Hajime Fitun murmured in shock.
From that reaction, Vandalieu figured that Akira had only been able to see ahead to the point where Murakami smirked, and based on that, he had a rough idea of how far ahead ‘Odin’ allowed him to see.
Murakami, who had been sent flying by Orbia, fell like a ragdoll within the range of ‘Bloodlust.’ Perhaps because he had lost consciousness or run out of Mana, or perhaps there was a time limit on his abilities, both ‘Gungnir’ and ‘Death Scythe’ came undone.
At this rate, Murakami would be devoured and killed by ‘Bloodlust,’ unable to move because of the venom. He might be able to escape that fate if he used ‘Gungnir,’ but… that was impossible.
Fully aware of this, Misa clicked her tongue.
“We have no choice! Akira, manage on your own for a while!” she said.
She created a wind with her vapor body, sweeping up the ‘Bloodlust’ closing in on Murakami and gathering it in one place.
Rodcorte, the god of reincarnation, had recovered the ‘Gungnir’ and ‘Death Scythe’ abilities that he had given to Kanata and Konoe Miyaji after their souls were destroyed. However, as the abilities had been granted in a form that imbued the souls of their owners, they had also been broken by Vandalieu.
Rodcorte had joined the broken fragments of the abilities back together in a form that made them usable again, and granted them as a new divine protection to Murakami, the reincarnated individual who seemed most useful for the task of killing Vandalieu.
Thanks to this, Murakami had become a reincarnated individual with three cheat-like abilities – ‘Chronos,’ ‘Gungnir’ and ‘Death Scythe.’
But in the end, they were abilities made by repairing broken fragments. They would not function as they originally had. Both abilities now had a new weakness that they had not originally possessed – after the abilities were undone, they would be unable to target the same target again for a while.
“‘Sylphid’… The stench from that time was you,” Vandalieu murmured, realizing that the unpleasant odor that he had once smelled in the past was Misa using ‘Sylphid’ after all.
He began using his own blood to increase the volume of ‘Bloodlust.’
“‘Stench?’ I definitely erased my scent with magic…” said Misa.
“No, you were odorless. But ‘odorless’ air is actually unnatural in the city or out in the open,” said Vandalieu.
There were all kinds of smells in the air in the city and out in the open. The fact that these smells were completely absent had actually made the incident memorable. That was the reason Vandalieu had noticed Misa’s presence.
“I see… I’ll take note of that. But there’s no use in increasing this ‘Bloodlust.’ It doesn’t affect me,” said Misa. “Akira, now’s your chance –”
“Misa, kill yourself!” Akira shouted.
“Wha –?!” Misa uttered in shock.
In order to prevent them from being killed by Vandalieu and having their souls devoured, Rodcorte had granted the three of them the ability to end their own lives just by thinking it, so that they could kill themselves if they ever needed to.
Misa knew that Akira was referring to this, and hastily attempted to activate it… but both Rodcorte and Misa had failed to realize that as living organisms, humans could not make the decision to die in an instant. She was unable to conquer her instinctive hesitation to die.
That was why Vandalieu’s spell was cast before she could kill herself.
“‘Flaming Prison Death,’” Vandalieu murmured.
Misa began to scream, but it was immediately drowned out by a flaming explosion, fueled by the ‘Bloodlust’ generated from the organic matter that was the fragments of Vandalieu’s own flesh.
… Perhaps because he had been scorched by the explosion, or perhaps because the ‘Bloodlust’ attached to his own body had exploded as well, Hajime Fitun screamed… but the reason for this was the fact that Misa had died in flames, in the same way that he himself had died in his previous life.
“Damn it, Misa’s been devoured! Sensei, the venom should have worn off already! Hurry and get up,” Akira’s voice said from the other side of the smoke produced by the ‘Flaming Prison Death.’
It seemed that Murakami would return to the battlefield.
“Part of my goal with ‘Bloodlust’ was to pinpoint where exactly ‘Sylphid’ was, you see,” said Vandalieu. “Now then… using ‘Bloodlust’ one more time… would be a bad idea, I suppose.”
It seemed that Hajime Fitun had a way to deal with it.
Murakami and Akira getting caught up in that and killed would be… troublesome as they would likely be reincarnated again, but Vandalieu didn’t mind giving up on killing them here in the worst-case scenario.
The dangerous thing was the possibility that Fitun’s way of dealing with ‘Bloodlust’ was an indiscriminate attack wielding his power as a god, not caring for his surroundings. It was possible that the walls of space would be broken and Kanako, Melissa, Doug, Miles in the forest, and even the city of Morksi would become involved.
Now that Vandalieu had devoured ‘Sylphid,’ he was hesitant to take that risk.
However, considering Hajime Fitun’s personality, he would likely create some kind of mess before he expired if Vandalieu tried to simply wait until he was out of time. Vandalieu need to do something, but –
Wait. Even though I just devoured ‘Sylphid,’ the presence and number of souls hasn’t changed, Vandalieu realized suddenly. There is one delicious-smelling soul, and three that aren’t. And there is the faint presence of two others… Assuming that two faint ones are the familiar spirits that have descended upon Murakami and ‘Odin’…
A possibility occurred to Vandalieu. If he was right, he would be able to defeat Hajime Fitun.
Vandalieu remembered Hajime Fitun attempting to suppress the pain from his trauma upon seeing Isis and Kanako. His hunch being right didn’t seem too unlikely.
But in order to execute his plan, he would need another way to chip away at Hajime Fitun’s mental fortitude.
As Vandalieu searched for a method to do so, a delivery arrived.
“Bocchan, before you do that, I have a delivery for you,” said a voice.
“Thank you. Now then, I’ll split in two in order to buy time for that. I’ll be back,” Vandalieu said.
“Very well.”
Vandalieu split in two. One stayed behind to accept the delivery and the other dashed towards Hajime Fitun and the others on the other side of the smoke.

Best of luck! After you come back in January I’d recommend taking up the check-on-first-of-month method to avoid cliffhanger burnout. You get a lil’ package of chapters withouht having to wait a whole ‘nother year ; )

Delivery? Vandzon delivery services? Bento maybe?
Kiriaru
Sooooooo, what is this special delivery!? This battle is really exciting but I don’t think Vandalieu’s life specifically is in danger, all the lives of his subordinates and the people of the city are in danger though.
Seems like the battle is reaching towards it’s climax, though it keeps going higher and higher!

Dang, I’m late.
Alright, I know I’m going to get some blowback for this, but I have to say it. This is what I was worried about a couple chapters ago.
When Murakami used Death Scythe, by the rules of Abyss, that effect should have been reflected back, stopping Murakami in place, but Densuke ignored that for a bit of tension. That’s exactly how Konoe died in the first place. Looking back, Konoe even said:
“Heh! I can use Death Scythe as long as I can see the target’s face!”
Now, does this matter right now? No, not really, Van managed to counter Death Scythe without Abyss. But as I said before, it’s a dangerous precedent. And it’s not like I’m trying to get anyone to quit reading the story or anything, I still thought that fight was pretty enjoyable and am looking forward to seeing how it’ll finish.
And it’s not like Densuke is going to see this comment on a site not in his native language, especially when he’s like, what, 200 chapters ahead of this one?
But a flaw is a flaw, and I feel like I need to comment on it regardless. Maybe there’s no purpose to doing it, but any discussion that doesn’t devolve into an insult match is one worth having. And hey, maybe there’s a small chance an aspiring writer will see this and keep this flaw in mind for any stories they write.
Now, as for positives, I love how Sam is determined to break any and all travel limitations. You’ve got air, space, what’s next? Time travel? Eleanora! Show Sam some Time-Attribute! See what happens when Sam hits 88 mph! And 1.21 Gigawatts! Other Back to the Future memes, ’cause I haven’t seen that movie in years.
Tejing
I don’t think it’s a flaw at all actually. I believe what he stopped was the staff itself, so Abyss wouldn’t have activated since it wasn’t targeting Van.
Kazza
Debatable, but the text doesn’t specify the staff, and this quote seems cut-and-dry that is referring to the arms:
“The attack with the Gyubarzo staff, the movement of Vandalieu’s arm, was stopped by the ‘Death Scythe’ ability of Konoe Miyaji-”
Additionally, Side Chapter 17 (maybe not his first appearance, but close enough) specifies he needs to look at the target’s face. He even needs to use ultrasonic waves in that chapter to see the faces behind the helmet.
And since this ability is actually a weaker version of Death Scythe than what Miyaji got, there’s no way it got rid of it’s only weakness.
So, unless you’re purporting that Gyubarzo’s skull is on top of the staff (I’d say that’s unlikely because that’d be way too big, he was large enough to swallow an entire ship whole, plus looking at it’s introduction – Chap 188, no mention is made of skull, only bone, and the tip is adorned “with a dark blue Magic Stone glinting at its tip.”), I think that just passes the broken rule from Abyss to Death Scythe.
And finally, if it was just the staff, why didn’t Van just let it go? He’s got multi-parallel processing, so such a solution isn’t hard for him to reach. Let it go, then charge at Murakami, who should have no recourse but to stop Van – then himself, becoming a sitting duck for the Bloodlust Microbes.
Jonathan Hurd
I honestly don’t see it as a plot hole that using Abyss wasn’t mentioned here personally for a few reasons.
The first is I don’t believe the Abyss skill is an auto counter. Van needs to understand it is happening and focus on it.
The second part is let’s say Van does activate it. Murakami froze Vans arm. So then Abyss would only freeze Murakami’s arm back. Maybe he could freeze up to the shoulder but I highly doubt Abyss would freeze the entire body in response. Not really much point stopping Murakami’s arms since his goal seems to be to jump into Van and undo Gungnir.
The third part is that Murakami suddenly used Death Scythe. Now remember Van was working off the idea Death Scythe can only stop your heart and lungs. Van would definitely suspect Murakami has the ability but if his arm suddenly doesn’t move there is going to be a second or two of confusion. In that time he has to to process the situation and guess that it is Death Scythe stopping the arm and not something or someone else.
Add in the fact that Van is swinging his staff that means Murakami is almost in Melee range with him so there isn’t much distance between the two. I find it fairly reasonable to not suddenly use Abyss in that situation.
The last part is Van had a plan and was acting on it to counter Murakami. He beat him back without having to use Abyss and as I said in point two I don’t think Abyss would of really done anything here.
To respond to the other part I will say Deathscthye only affects the person’s body it has no effect on objects. The biggest issue though is Van can’t afford to not swing the stave.
Murakami made it so Vans physical body would just pass through him. Even if Van body slams him it would do absolutely nothing. Same goes for Bloodlust since they’re just Micro Vans themselves. As long as Gungnir is active Van needs to hit Murakami with something that’s not himself.
Kazza
I’m sorry, but no, that is factually incorrect. Abyss is an auto counter. Van does not turn it on, it activates when he is hit with a sight-based skill (not even necessarily an attack).
When Merrebeveil tried to look into Van’s mind, Van was instead taken to her Divine Realm. When Tendou used Clairvoyance in Rodcorte’s Divine Realm, the rift appeared in front of Van. That’s two situations where Van only knew he was being observed because Abyss activated and let him see his observer.
Secondly, if Van’s only frozen to the arms, then he should be able to move and dodge Murakami’s attack. The fact that he doesn’t consequently indicates his body was frozen, Densuke just focused on the arms because those were in motion at the time. So, that’s left him with two possible situations:
His arms are frozen, but he can still use his legs, so he should be able to dodge Murakami’s attack, especially since Murakami can’t move his arms to adjust.
Or his whole body is frozen, in which case Murakami’s can’t move.
Either way, Murakami shouldn’t be able to reach him to use Gungnir.
And as for your third point, I think you misunderstood me. I’m not saying this situation breaks the story. I’m saying it shows a bad precedent. It shows Densuke will ignore Abyss, one of the most overpowered defensive abilities Van has, because he wants to build momentary tension in a fight. Do you not think that lowers the stakes of any following battles? We joke about Plot Armor, but this is the same problem, knowing an author will not follow the rules they set if they want a payoff. I’m not well-versed enough in literary studies to really describe it 100% (I barely understand the concept of Verisimilitude, myself) but when something feels off, thinking a bit will show you why.
In the words of Harry S. Plinkett:
“You may not have noticed it, but your brain did.”
Doc
Late response to this but anywho I agree and disagree with parts of this. First off, from the various examples of abyss we’ve seen so far, it seems very much like an auto counter type ability. As soon as anybody looks at him the skill makes Van aware of that presence. It’s how he knows how many people in Morksi are looking at him at any given moment and it’s how he can counter attack gods trying to peep at him. It’s not like he’s always expecting to have to use the skill. The very nature of how it works means it has to be a passive thing that Van doesn’t need to consciously “turn on”.
The part I agree with is that in this context the actions Van took make sense for his strategy and how him and Murakami were positioned at the time.
I view it as a minor oversight that ultimately doesn’t harm the story. I agree with Kazza that if the author was being consistent, abyss should have reflected it back but I agree with you that doing so wouldn’t have helped Van in that situation so story wise it made more sense to just drop that aspect of abyss. This is the potential pitfall when you have hundreds of introduced skills is its difficult to always keep them logically consistent especially if by doing so it gets in the way of the cool action you’re trying to convey.
Tejing
In the Volume 6 Character Summary it says (about Death Scythe):
Car tires don’t have faces either. It’s clear Death Scythe can work on inanimate objects, though it’s unclear what the condition for activation is in that case, since the face thing doesn’t apply.
As for why he didn’t let go, Jonathan Hurd covered this, but he was surprised. There was an incredibly small amount of time for him to react, and he didn’t consider that Death Scythe might allow such a thing. Also, he already had a backup plan in place with the poison in his breath, so it wasn’t necessary to rapidly change plans.
Kazza
Huh. I wasn’t aware of that. However, is that the only explicit (since you’re purporting the staff would be the second, but is not explicitly said as such) occurrence? Because honestly, I find that incredibly weak on Densuke’s part.
Because there are multiple references for needing to see the face of a human to activate Death Scythe, and if that’s unnecessary, why is that limitation there in the first place? I suppose it’s to explain how he can stop the heart without it being exposed, but that just kicks the can down the road. Now, Death Scythe is messing with its own rules for a momentary payoff in a character summary.
Especially since that break isn’t even necessary. Why would he need to stop the tires if he could trigger cardiac arrest in the parents driving? Surely he could see their faces. Not that you’re lying, it’s exactly as you quoted, I just find it strange.
And consequently, the text is still not explicit that the staff was targeted, and instead sounds more like it was Van’s arms/body.
Also, I can’t agree with your reasoning for not dropping it. Van has the Multi-Parallel Processing, so however short the time is, it’s meaningless. The electrical signals in his brain should be faster. And being stuck like a sitting duck, when he’s fighting a literal god inside an Isekai hero, is not the quick-thinking actions of a character like Van. Unless he’s (cliche as it is to say it) testing his opponents power, he’s never going to let himself stay at the mercy of an enemy when he can get out of it.
Hobbes
It’s not a flaw because though Death Scythe IS reflected by Abyss when the user is looking at & using the ability on Van… the Limited Death Scythe was used on Van’s staff not Van himself… Be sure you’ve read things right before crying “MISTAKE” please.
Irazori
Oh damn, I forgot that the cheat skills can be stacked like rod-moron’s equally incompetent champion (amamiya). But it’s great that Van can basically make those cheats weaker everytime he kills/soul breaks them.
Side note: By Van splitting himself it’s the usual out of body spirit clone right?
Lord Rin
Multiple Bravers had more than one cheat. Apart from Hiroto who has like 8, Rikudou has 2: Unlimited Development and Increased Learning Speed. Murakami had 2 cheats before getting Gungnir and Death Scythe: Chronos and Super Mana Regeneration. Meanwhile Doug has 3 that are colloquially referred to as Hecatoncheir which consists of Force Vision, Telekinesis and Omnidirectional Perception.
Jonathan Hurd
That is a good point, not all the cheat abilities are that impressive in Lambda. Hirotos Chant Revocation and Multicast cheats are achievable with enough training in Lambda.
Jonathan Hurd
I think the split this time might involve either the DKs Shadow or Mirror Van personally. Admittedly could also be a Spirit Clone though. I’m kind of curious how Van is going to try and hide there being two of him from outside eyes.

Even with extra cheats, Murakami’s group are still getting their asses kicked.
Actually why did Rodcorte even give Murakami half-functioning cheats? Couldn’t he just give them new cheats? I mean we already saw Rodcorte give them all new skills that don’t exist in Lambda like Death Attribute Resistance and Target Radar to locate sources of death attribute mana before he then tweaked it some more to only locate sources beyond a certain amount. There’s also that one skill that they can let them assign one new skill of their choice. If Rodcorte can do all that then I don’t know why he doesn’t just give them new cheats.
Welp Misa is dead and had her soul devoured. Meh she was a flat character anyways.
I’m waiting for Hajime to snap and turn on Murakami and Akira. Fitun has been having trouble controlling Hajime for a while now ever since Kanako and Isis appeared in front of him. Now Hajime Fitun is snapping at Murakami’s group to do something otherwise he’ll kill them for betraying him.
I guess Sam can teleport now. He’d been practicing to cross space and time since a while back. I wonder what delivery he brought? Fitun’s subordinates’ souls for Van to eat? Kanako’s group and/or other reinforcements? Both? If Kanako’s group come then Kanako’s presence can make Fitun finally lose control of Hajime since he already is having trouble controlling him. Having the person who directly killed him show up at this time should probably have a major effect. Even more if Isis also comes too.
Jonathan Hurd
I think Rodidiot gave Murakami Gungnir’s and Deathscythe’s abilities mainly just because he had them and he thought they might increase Murakami’s chances even slightly. They are certainly defective, but that defect is just they can’t be used multiple times on the same target. So if all you want is just one quick surprise strike to finish your enemy and done. Then I think they’re fairly good tools. Especially since there’s no way Van could predict Murakami has the skill.
For giving new powers I’d first split new powers into two categories. Cheat powers/Unique skills and normal abilities.
I think there are a few reasons Rodidiot couldn’t or doesn’t give more cheat powers. The first reason is Rodidiot’s powers relate to the cycle of rebirth. So he can grant abilities at the start of peoples lives, but I think he would struggle imbuing anything on people after they’re reborn. Maybe he could do something if Murakami and the others killed themselves, returned to him, and then were incarnated once more, but that sounds like too much effort for either side to consider.
Another reason why I don’t think Rodidiot tried to give more cheat powers is I think the human Soul has a certain capacity. I’m thinking back to the chapter where Vida brought Zakkart to Lambda. She said the Souls of the teleported people had certain empty space and cheat abilities filled that space up. Part of the reason Van started with such a high mana pool was he had tons of empty space to start with. I’m not sure what would happen if you overstuffed someone’s soul, but I assume it could lead to your soul popping like an overfilled balloon.
I think the reason Rodidiot could slip in Gungnir and Deathscythe into Murakami was because of their broken state and the fact that he wouldn’t be using their powers for long. That’s just my opinion though.
For abilities like status resist and the Death Attribute Radar, that has less to do with Rodidiots imbuing powers and more him hacking into the skill system of Lambda. Rodidiot already had to hack in to allow the reincarnators to keep their skills from Origin. He also had to rebrand quite a few of them like Shooting into Archery. So I think while he was at it he just made a new skill or two as well as the assignable points category since he had already back doored his way in.
I do think there are limits even to that though because if there weren’t it would make plenty of sense for Rodidiot to try and give his assassin’s higher martial arts and magic abilities to increase their chances while fighting Van. Probably a problem with doing that is the skill helps give corrections, but it doesn’t make up completely for a lack of skill. Of course this is Rodidiot we are talking about who basically thinks he’s the smartest. So it is completely possible that he just didn’t care about martial arts and normal magic thinking the cheat abilities he made are the best and more than enough.

A new chapter after only a day?
Van Sama be praised.
gomezseba37
I really want to se van using the demon kings shadow to fight like birkyne did with the shadow armor
Jonathan Hurd
I want to see that too, but I think Van is purposely holding things back as long as he can. I mean he’s already pushing these idiots to the brink using already revealed cards like Blood Lust and the Ghosts. With a few new cards sprinkled in like the DK tentacles and the Space Ghosts. No reason to show more of his power to Alda and Rodidiot than he has to.
Tejing
One down, and the rest seem to be pretty much out of cards. It should be over soon.
Who wants to bet the ‘delivery’ is a nice meal to go?
Skarbrand
I wonder if Van gains memories from souls he eats. If so, then he will gain some useful knowledge about Fitun and his capabilities.
Lord Rin
He doesn’t gain memories. He experimented with a bunch of Evil Gods to see if he’d gain their memories and he didn’t.
Jonathan Hurd
Honestly I don’t think any of the reincarnators have any inside information on Fitun to begin with. He went completely off the radar long ago and has been avoiding everyone. Rodidiot could of probably provided a little, but not sure he would bother with too much detail.
I also don’t think he has any particularly good cards Van needs to be made aware of right now. The big ones like God Transformation and the fusion of Fitun and Hajime is already revealed.
Shank Mugen
Thank Lord Yoshi for the new chapter on this new day!
Soulzer1
My bet is on it being Mommy Chaos Elf as combat backup
Jonathan Hurd
While I would love to see Darcia coming in to help I think she’s in to public of a place to come in through a rift in time. She also has to contest with I think three Heroic Spirits without revealing too much of her strength with just Basida and Zadris as well. So I think Darcia is still a bit busy.
My bet is its Sam come to give Van the defeated Heroic Spirits souls. Sam is the only person of Vans allies that calls him Bochan.
Entropy
Thank you for the chapter. Two chapters in two days, must be Christmas. So Vand’s enemies are finally pulling out all the stops. Thought the mist girl would die first. Next up is the guy who will literally see it coming. Followed by the teacher and then the god. I wonder if Van caught the girl’s soul and will devour it or if she got away.
Tejing
The chapter said he already devoured her. Remember he can devour souls with his normal attacks, so he doesn’t have to do anything special, just kill the person while keeping his soul devour skill active.
Entropy
Oh I thought that it was referring to the flames consuming her. One down, three to go.
Jonathan Hurd
I’m still hopeful he can absorb the cheat like abilities after eating them. It wouldn’t be surprising if he didn’t see the memo in the middle of combat.
Skarbrand
Apparently, the cheat-abilities go right back to Rodcorte, although they are broken by Soul Devour, so they do not work as well once recreated.
Tejing
Kanata and Miyaji were broken, not devoured, as Van didn’t have the soul devour ability yet at the time, so we still don’t know what happens when a reincarnator is devoured.
Metazoxan
This might also be why Murakami was conveniently given the two abilities he missed. That might be the author’s excuse to pass them to van anyway.
Jonathan Hurd
I feel the author pretty thoroughly covered himself in regards to those two. Funnier Van hit the soul and then watched it collapse. He sat back until the soul crumbled under the strain of trying to use surpass limits. Plenty of room to pick up scraps from that.
Death Scythes case was pretty similar. Van just hit him till he broke and crumbled on his own. In Death Scythes case the only way Van could do damage was if Death Scythe did it first.
Once he started crumbling he couldn’t attack anymore and they cut the connection. He literally died in Rodidiots realm easy place to collect the pieces.
Both cases weren’t hit with a giant blast to finish them off. They just slowly petered out. We haven’t seen anyone who was fully destroyed or eaten make any sort of comeback. That’s why all the Evil Gods and Aldas crew are missing themselves right now.
Yoki
I mean, the most probable scenario is, Van gets the ability like when he ate the god of records in the trial labyrinths
Metazoxan
But that was a god while these are just humans with a bit of power given by Rodidiot. IT’s not certain what form that power will take when eaten by Van. Will it be the exact ability or a modified version? Or will he just digest Rodidiot’s power completely into raw power and boost his anti god skills?
It’s not certain what path the author will take with this unless you read ahead of course.
ObserverBias
Something that might be more important than it’s already mentioned to be, he thinks to himself that despite consuming Sylphid the “presence and number of souls didn’t change.” While there’s the given that he’s picking up Hajime being a target on Fitun’s forehead, why would the number be the same if Sylphid is ‘now’ dead?
no1
Yes another chapter, thanks Yoshi. Let’s be honest, everyone saw this coming for Murakami. He thought that if he and his group joined Fitun, they could overwhelm Van. Except even with 2 barely functional cheat abilities, Murakami never had a chance against Van. Also I know Syhpilid got devoured, but Van said that the number of souls present hasn’t changed. Can anyone explain this? This chapter came quickly, I can’t wait to see the next chapter and see what the delivery was.
ExplodingPenguinDood
I’m gonna guess that it’s Hajimes soul trying to separate itself to Fituns, that’s why Van said he could defeat Hajime and not Fitun
Jonathan Hurd
That’s how I read it too. Its been pretty clear throughout the fight that Fitun is not in complete control of Hajime. Otherwise Hajime Fitun wouldn’t of reacted so violently to Kanako and Isis presence. Fitun also has no reason to be so blood thirsty against Murakami and his crew.
The delivery that Van is receiving is definitely the souls of the Heroic Spirits that his allies have collected. I think Van is going to start eating them in front of Fitun to shake his mind releasing Hajime. In a state where Hajime and Fitun are fighting for control of the body he’ll be easy picking for Van to eat.
Doc
I don’t think Murakami ever thought the two other cheat abilities would amount to much. I mean Van beat the original better versions of both skills. He just needed them to create a moment of an opening.
And yes, like ExplodingPenguin and Jonathan Hurd said, the extra soul Van refers to is likely Hajime’s. It wasn’t particularly well phrased because it’s an incorrect statement. Van knew early on in the fight that a God is inhabiting Hajime’s body. So when Murakami’s group showed up and he killed Slyphid then the number of souls in reality did drop by one. The fact that Hajime’s soul still exists doesn’t mean the number of souls present didn’t change. But it’s whatever. The point the author was trying to convey is that Hajime’s soul is being deeply repressed but is still around and the plan is likely to give control of his body back.
Tejing
Considering the bit about how he reacted to Misa dying in the same way Hajime did in his previous life, I think the implication was that Hajime’s soul was supressed to the point of being almost undetectable, but isn’t anymore. Misa’s death jarred him closer to taking control back, which is why the number of (easily detectable) souls didn’t change. Misa’s disappeared, but a new one flared up as well.
TheTrueDeathGod
The familiar spirits they were in rings and van can’t detect them when in objects with out touching them tell now
Jonathan Hurd
Van said in the chapter that he sensed two weaker souls on Murakami and Odin which should be the familiar spirits.
I think what might of happened is Van isn’t constantly using sense Souls. I can think of two possibilities for why he only saw 5 souls at the start of the battle. The first is Hajime’s soul was so suppressed or overshadowed by Fitun it wasn’t detectable. The other is Syphilid wasn’t near them when he first used it and he might of assumed Hajime’s soul was hers.

ANOTHER CHAPTER??!!!! And my birthday isn’t for another month, THANK YOU YOSHI!!! On another note, BOW YOUR HEADS LOW, ALL HAIL VANDALIEU!!!!
Nox
Thanks for the chapter.
Even during a battle Van-sama accepts deliverys.
Alda and Rodcorte are sacrificing others in order to know the extent of
Van-samas abilities and when they think they’ve gauged it Van-sama shows them with their death that he is unstoppable.
Jonathan Hurd
What’s sad is I don’t think they are actually sacrificing these people to learn more about Van. If it is they are losing way to much for the info they are gaining. I think what’s actually happening is Alda and Rodidiot despite the massive losses they are continuously taking are still overflowing with confidence in their own victory.
For Rodidiot he’s basically decided to try and kill Van through wave tactics. He intends to just keep sending person after person to try and kill Van thinking ‘hey someone’s bound to succeed eventually if I keep doing this’.
As for Alda, he seems convinced that he’ll win if Heinz wakes Bellwood and they finish raising up their hero army.
To them they aren’t throwing Fitun and Murakami to get information but more just to buy time and hoping against hope they could win. They are ignoring the fact that every time they do this Van just keeps getting stronger, but they are so delusional that they are convinced they’ll win no matter how much stronger Van becomes.
Its not like Murakami and Fitun are any better than those two either in regards to confidence. These two are so self assured that they will win in the end they never bothered trying to get adequate information on Van beforehand. If Fitun just got the info Alda got from his personal dungeon; fighting Legion wouldn’t be such a hopeless prospect right now.
Fitun would also know of quite a few more of Van’s abilities as well and could of prepared counter measures to fight Blood Lust, but they all assume that obviously they’re going to win until their last moments when they pass into Vans stomach.
Lord Rin
But they aren’t even gonna know anything. Fitun and his subordinates cut off contact with Alda so that he can’t even know what is happening and while Rodcorte can see through Murakami’s group’s eyes, he’s an idiot who probably isn’t paying attention anyways plus Van isn’t using any skills that aren’t already known. Bloodlust was already known from the fight in Alda’s dungeon and it was safe to assume that Van had absorbed the Demon King’s Tentacles. Only thing really that wasn’t known was Van has Space Ghosts from Coast to Coast and that isn’t really a good gauge of how strong Van is.
Paps
Thanks for the chapter, heck I just love how strong he is, great way to deal with them.
WholesomeAF
So, the carriage of death can really teleport now. That says something about putting your mind into it…. BTW thanks for the chapter….
Eddy
and that in a couple of months of training, what those allies of Van can do when they have entire centuries to train, the entire scale of power will have to be reactivated
Jonathan Hurd
Honestly after Sam became able to fly through the sky I think Teleportation is not that big of a leap. Keep following your dreams Sam! Become the ultimate Carriage of the Demon King, lol.
Eddy
thanks for having this new chapter so proton, thanks yoshi and blessings densuke
Eddy
now Van is going to be even more paranoid, finding countermeasures for those who already killed
On the other hand, how many attacks were there? it seems I lost the bet
bk3k
Keep in mind he earlier in the story he shattered the souls before gaining the ability to consume them.
Jonathan Hurd
Yeah, the way Deathscthye and Gungnir died was very different than when he completely destroyed or ate others souls. Gungnir he cracked his soul then sat back and watched it break to pieces. For Deathscthye he killed him simply by reflecting damage till it became to much for Deathscthye to handle.
Both cases he kind of did a half baked job finishing them off and more let their souls fall to pieces on their own.
Now a thing to also keep in mind is Rodidiot was the one who originally made these abilities. So it is also possible he could make more of them or add more to future assassin’s. So keeping track of countermeasures and not taking people at face value is always important.
Admittedly Van has been doing that since the beginning though so while he might increase his training. I don’t think he’s going to be anymore paranoid than the amazing degree he’s already at, lol.
Doc
Also to add onto what bk3k said, Van doesn’t need new countermeasures for abilities he’s already faced. He faced them already and won. The countermeasures he developed in battle would be just as effective each time he encounters the same ability. It’s why Van knew to immediately switch to physical throwing knives not made out his body parts or magic against gungnir.
He wasn’t aware death scythe’s ability is to stop movement, not to kill, but he knows what to do in case any of his body is stopped by the ability.

Entropy
Wow nicely done. I would have put the 71 others as unknown in which group they are in. I wonder how many of them will go after Van.
gomezseba37
probably not at lot and not in the near future. rodcorte gave them good fortunes and destinies a lot of them are probably going to live a long happy life if they retire and die of old age with their families. they will probably ask to get back into the reincarnation system remember these are no longer kids they will have lived a long life as important people in origin so I expect their resoning to be more complex.
Jonathan Hurd
Honestly I can’t imagine their lives ending peacefully as long as Haijiri is in the mix. Add in the fact that they do work for an anti terrorism organization and people view them as freaks. I’m not sure they are able to have happy relaxed retired lives.
I can honestly imagine more people not wanting to fight than those who want to join in Murakami’s suicide attack. After a life being the center of attention and constantly fighting terrorist organizations I think most will be exhausted and done with fighting.
Now as Rodidiot becomes more desperate I think there is going to be less choice and more force in his recruitment to kill Van.
Entropy
I suspect they will be forced to help Rodcorte. I would not be surprised if he threaten to withhold their good fortunes and destinies, look at what happened to the mc when he did not receive a good fortune.
Gohankuten
Don’t you remember the convo Rodiot and Aldumb had about how Rod was gonna be forcing them. If they decided to help Rod nothing would happen to them. If they don’t decide then Rod was gonna do 1 of 2 things. If their gifts were useful he was gonna basically mindwipe them and then have them spawn in an Aldumb temple to be programmed into battlebots. If their gift was useless then he would mindwipe them and just do the regular reincarnation on them.
Doc
I’m not sure how Rodcorte intends to force them. I mean he may present them little option while in his divine realm but once they are reincarnated on Lambda Rodcorte no longer has authority to do anything. Kanako’s group and Super Sense were all originally part of the group to kill Van but ran away from Murakami to do their own thing. I don’t see how Rodcorte could prevent that from happening with more reincarnators.
I suppose he could curse people with the threat that it only lifts if they actually kill Van but I mean we saw his curses on Van. They didn’t prevent shit.
Gohankuten
The idea was he was basically gonna be reading their thoughts and if they seemed like they might betray they would get the mindwipe option and then it comes down to how useful their gift was.
Jonathan Hurd
Yeah if they don’t accept to fight on their own then Rodidiot is going to basically wipe most of their memories/personalities and reincarnate them in a church of Alda. They would then be raised as weapons by Alda’s people.
Doc
Right but that can only be done during the phase they exist in his divine realm. Once they’re reincarnated he can’t wipe their memories. Nothing stops the reincarnators from initially seemingly like they’re for killing Van and then changing their minds later.
Entropy
Only thing that sucks for the reincarnators is that they can’t knowingly lie to Rodcorte. He can read minds, although knowing his intelligence, he probably won’t waste his time reading their minds.
Jonathan Hurd
That is true. Problem I see for the future is as Alda and Rodidiot become more desperate they’re probably going g to take more extreme measures to ensure people fight Van. I can imagine Aldas church hooking the reincarnators with Slave collars to force them to fight Van even if they don’t want to.
Of course Van can easily disable slave collars so I can imagine that back firing splendidly, but I wouldn’t put it past those two God’s to try it anyway.
Doc
I suppose that’s a valid point. Alda may insist they be reincarnated in a way that allows his side to more easily control them, regardless of the reincarnators actual intentions.
I just keep thinking of Super Sense for this topic because she was fully with Murakami’s group for a good while, fully training to kill Van, then just suddenly decided to not and ran off somewhere (as opposed to Kanako that if I remember right hid her real intentions in Rodcorte’s realm via her ability Venus. Melissa and Dave just chose to follow her and didn’t have strong feelings either way). Unless there’s a more restricting force in the future I don’t see why the same thing couldn’t keep happening.
Jonathan Hurd
To be fair Kannako and her group fairly openly thought about not wanting to fight Van. What she managed to hide was information about reincarnation systems. Basically she implanted in herself the idea of really wanting to change to Vidas races in herself to trigger when she meets Van.
Rodidiot knew she wasn’t going to help kill Van but this is Rodidiot we’re talking about so he just ignored it and didn’t bother to tell Murakami. Same for Super Sense. It’s less of them hiding their intentions from Rodidiot and more Rodidiot didn’t care since he is still massively underestimating Van. As he gets more desperate I assume he’s going to put in harder measures to ensure cooperation.
One possibility is he could start giving people curses to force them to fight Van. Personally I hope he does because I can’t wait to see how that backfires.
Skarbrand
With Hijiri planning things on Origin I bet at least few are going to die. Also, Rodcorte mentioned that a war over the remaining Death-Attribute items in Origin will start soon, so that may claim the lives of a few of them.

Lol, he’s doing the Ghost Rider move, if you can’t hurt the wind/air, just burn them!!

I like how we all expect it to be a one-sided beatdown but the author keeps finding ways to make it interesting and entertaining. Seriously good job author.
And good job Yoshi, the story wouldn’t even be half as good without your high-quality translations.
gomezseba37
Yeah being near populated areas is going to be the biggest power limiter from now on. if this was in a remote area or in a dungeon van wouldve just hollow cannoned him into oblivion

Thank you for the chapter Yoshi-sama and sponsors!
VEreality
The amount of reverse Uno cards that were used during this chapter was impresiv. To be honest this guys did better than I first expected them to.
Also, can we just take one moment to admire the attention to details. I mean, no matter how yoy look at this events and Van’s plans are all logical. Even the reason why Rodiot’s backup plan for the reincarnated individuals is understandable. I am however concerned about the fact that Rodiot seem to actually learn from his mistakes.
Thank you Yoshi-sama!!!
Eddy
relax, that will never happen
bk3k
If you are concerned that Rodcorte is done doing really stupid things… oh he isn’t. He isn’t done creating very big messes with his stupidity. Without saying specifically, but you should already know some of what he’s done that hasn’t (yet) blown up.
Gawain
Like when Rodcorte sprinkled some of Guduranis’ should fragments (supposed) on what’s-his-name (Edward I think?), one of Heinz’s companions, that happened a whole slew of chapters ago.
Still waiting for THAT to go horribly wrong.
Jonathan Hurd
Ditto, lol.
I don’t think any of us have to worry about Rodidiot not screwing up. Even his suicide switch idea while good was not really thought out fully.
Besides Van learns much faster than Rodidiot ever has, hehehe.
Metazoxan
I love how Alda even told him “just fix it. Don’t do anything extra” and he’s like “eh lets see what happens if I add in PART OF THE DEMON KING TO SOMEONE’S SOUL”
Rasho
Sprinkling some powder on someone’s Soul? (This isn’t a spoiler, it was already mentioned in an earlier Chapter)

Rodiot is still throwing stuff at walls and seeing what sticks. Even monkeys write Shakespeare if given time. I suspect that he gave those extra powers with little to no knowledge if they would work or cause the teacher to blow up or even lose his ability.
