When Andou Misa died on Earth and was reincarnated in Origin by Rodcorte, she was given the ability to transform her body into vapor and became Misa Anderson.
It seemed that Rodcorte thought of her ability as a cheat-like ability, but she thought of it as a kind of superpower, though it could have been considered to be a cheat in the sense that she had been born with a power that no human could ever attain no matter how talented they were.
And then she died in Origin, burned alive by Baba Yaga, a member of the Eighth Guidance with a combustion ability.
Back then, even with the ability to transform her body into a vapor, she had become unable to make herself completely invisible, and more importantly, she had been found by Baba Yaga in the enclosed space that was the underground base of the Eighth Guidance. In the end, these were the things that had sealed her fate.
Even before the incident, she had been well aware that she would be poorly-matched in a battle against Baba Yaga.
If Misa turned her entire body into vapor, it was impossible to attack her physically. But fire was her worst enemy. If her body’s vapor was altered by combustion, she would lose her body.
There was also the option of fighting without using her ‘Sylphid’ ability, relying on the magic and martial arts that she had learned in her training, but it was difficult for her to block Baba Yaga’s powerful explosions that she could produce instantaneously.
Strategically, it was best for Misa to avoid Baba Yaga at all costs. She was supposed to have kept her distance from Baba Yaga and stayed together with the ‘Odin’ Hazamada Akira who had the ability to accurately see several seconds into the future as they recovered Pluto’s corpse.
But Baba Yaga had been in an unexpected position, and Misa and Hazamada Akira had been burnt alive when she threw and detonated portable organic material… a plastic bottle filled with oil.
Misa had then been born again in Lambda as Misa Anderson.
… And I’m now no different from the curious onlookers down there. How depressing, she thought to herself.
She was currently looking down at the plaza in the city of Morksi with her body turned completely into vapor with her ‘Sylphid’ ability.
In the plaza, there was a crowd of onlookers making some noise, and the duel between the ‘Strong Arm’ Gordon, the ‘Starving Wolf’ Michael, Simon and Natania had just begun.
Naturally, the people involved in the duel, the crowd watching on… and even Vandalieu, who was watching the duel from the front row, hadn’t noticed Misa’s presence.
This fact made her feel less miserable.
It’s worth putting some effort in once in a while, she thought.
In Origin, Misa had been unable to make herself completely transparent, and she had sometimes been detected by police dogs and military dogs during her training. But after being reincarnated in Lambda, she had successfully improved her ‘Sylphid’ ability.
She had acquired the ability of becoming completely invisible, and she could not be detected even by high-Rank monsters with a sharp sense of smell. She had even become able to cast magic while in vapor form, and she was able to move objects to some extent as well.
These were the results of approximately two years of diligent training, along with the fact that she had chosen the body of an Elf, a race whose members often had a strong affinity for the wind attribute.
Currently, she was under the effects of a spell that the ‘Odin’ Akira Hazamada had invented, one that erased the presence of her magic and life force. With this, even Vandalieu could not detect her. So she thought, but she was careful to never let her eyes meet his.
It seems contradictory to monitor someone while keeping your eyes off them, but… I don’t want to be destroyed like ‘Death Scythe,’ she thought, remembering another reincarnated individual, the ‘Death Scythe’ Konoe Miyaji.
Konoe Miyaji had succeeded in stopping Vandalieu’s heart and lungs, but he had received some kind of attack in return, causing his soul to break.
At the time, Vandalieu had been on the world’s surface, while Konoe Miyaji had been in Rodcorte’s Divine Realm – a place where even magic would normally not be able to take effect. Konoe Miyaji had possessed the cheat-like ability ‘Death Scythe’ that worked through his gaze, while Vandalieu had not been given any cheat-like ability.
Rodcorte had concluded that Konoe Miyaji’s destruction had taken place through the effect of some Skill that Vandalieu possessed, and Misa and her companions agreed with this conclusion.
The effect of that Skill was unlikely to be powerful enough to destroy someone’s soul or mortally wound them just by making eye contact. It was possible that multiple conditions needed to be met for the Skill to take effect, so Misa making eye contact with him here might not trigger the Skill.
But Misa had no intention of risking losing her life and having her soul destroyed to determine whether that was the case.
In any case, gathering information about the circumstances surrounding Vandalieu was valuable in itself. It was valuable, but –
This is no good… That Gordon guy is no match for him, Misa thought as she looked at the ‘Strong Arm’ Gordon, who was currently fighting against Vandalieu’s companions.
For a C-class adventurer, he was not bad. As his Title suggested, he was a frontline fighter who valued his physical strength, and this was good enough for him to fulfil that role.
Considering his defensive movements, his ‘Unarmed Fighting Technique’ Skill was also above average… around Level 3 or 4. His punches made an audible noise from the force of the air being pushed away by his fists.
But Miles was evading them with ease. In fact, he was even making fun of Gordon, pretending to be a boxing trainer.
“One, two! One, two! Keep your arms closer to your sides!” Miles said, smiling.
Enraged, Gordon threw his punches more and more furiously.
“Y-you bas… Gah!” he shouted as Miles used the openings created by his rougher movements to land a hit.
“I told you to keep your arms closer to your sides, didn’t I?” Miles said.
His strike, from which he had held back plenty of power, had stopped just short of breaking Gordon’s ribs. Feeling the pain and impact, and sensing Miles’s strength, Gordon’s face turned pale.
Slow to notice, isn’t he? … No, I suppose I can’t blame him, since he’s under the assumption that his opponent is just a guy who runs the slum quarters, Misa thought.
In Origin, even skilled mercenaries and special force soldiers wouldn’t be negligent when dealing with gangs or mafia members. It would be simple to deal with weapons like knives, but even gangs and mafia members would be a threat if armed with black market guns and magical media.
And all humans were the same in the sense that anyone would die if they received an attack in a vital spot.
But in Lambda, the difference between a C-class adventurer and a gang member was staggeringly large. A D-class adventurer, with a reasonable safety margin, would be capable of hunting bears on a regular basis. But a C-class adventurer would be able to slaughter a bear with a single strike.
From the perspective of someone from Origin, a C-class adventurer would be a superhuman.
Meanwhile, a criminal organization in this world would be considered to be quite well-off if they had some thugs who were failed D-class adventurers… unless they were very large-scale organizations, like the ones that had been backed by the Pure-breed Vampires.
Of course, there were likely some assassins or thugs with the strength of a B-class adventurer or even more. It was even possible that there were former A-class adventurers who had committed crimes and been forced to go into hiding in the underworld.
But the difference in strength between someone who just acted as the face of the slum quarter and entertainment district and an adventurer would be overwhelming. Gordon had likely assumed that this would be the case here, that this ‘Starving Wolf’ would be nothing more than a blockhead with a big mouth.
But the truth was the opposite.
“What’s the matter? Are you going to give up? If you do, I might forgive you, you know?” Miles taunted.
“You bastard…!” Gordon muttered, his face twisting in a furious scowl.
But he was unable to move. He knew that he was unable to win this fight.
“What’s the matter, Master Gordon?!” one of Gordon’s followers shouted.
“Hurry up and finish him off!” said the other.
Neither of them could see how powerful Miles really was.
“Hey, you there, the big one! Is your nice muscle all for show?!” one of the bystanders who had bet on Gordon shouted.
If Gordon surrendered here, he would become known as a man who was all talk. That was something that he needed to avoid.
He had no choice but to give up on acquiring Basdia and Zadiris, but he would at least need to make some highlights in this scene before he was defeated.
“You guys are first!” Gordon roared as he threw a fist towards Simon and Natania.
They had been waiting for their turn as they were hesitant to fight Gordon three-on-one, but it seemed that Gordon had decided to defeat them in an instant, showing his ruthlessness off to the spectators.
However, his fist was blocked by Simon’s artificial arm.
“GAH!” Gordon screamed in pain as his fist connected with the arm that he had thought was iron only on the outside. “Is your artificial arm completely solid iron on the inside as well?!”
“Yes, since Master told me to become able to move it regardless of how heavy it is. And it would be too easily dented if it were hollow on the inside,” Simon explained.
Gordon was wearing armor himself, so his hand wasn’t broken, but the impact seemed to have been quite painful. He fell back, clutching his fist.
“By the way, my artificial limbs are as solid as Simon’s. Take this!” Natania shouted as she unleashed her pent-up anger in a series of chaotic attacks, forcing Gordon to stay on the defense.
Well, I suppose he’s about right for seeing how strong these new people are, whether they’re his companions or apprentices. But those iron artificial limbs… If he gives them artificial limbs made of Mythril or Adamantite… or even the Demon King’s fragments, they’ll be a threat. But of course, they’re not so threatening now, Misa thought, losing interest in the duel.
She found it hard to imagine that there would be any new developments worth watching.
Misa was an adventurer herself. She knew of the unspoken rules of a duel. In general, weapons were not allowed, and neither was the use of martial skills or some Active Skills such as ‘Surpass Limits.’
If weapons and martial skills were allowed, the chances that someone ended up dead would increase… and if the dueling adventurers were strong, it was even possible that spectators would get caught up in the duel and killed as well. If the dueling parties were A-class adventurers, it wouldn’t be surprising if they ended up destroying buildings with the shockwaves produced by their combat, never mind the spectators.
If they did that, the adventurers would cease being adventurers and become mere criminals, regardless of the circumstances of their duel. Gordon was unlikely to be willing to cross that line. Even though Natania was beating him down, he showed no intention to take out his axe or use martial skills and Skills.
Personally, Misa would have preferred for him to cross that line so that she could see more of Miles’s power and possibly even a part of Vandalieu’s, but… it didn’t seem that she would get to see that.
The problem is that Vandalieu is… completely in spectator mode. The girl that he is holding in his arms… She isn’t a child from the orphanage, is she? Misa wondered.
She began looking and listening for information about the girl around Vandalieu’s surroundings.
The alchemist named Jessie had finally managed to calm herself down after being comforted by the two Ghouls. The girl with the bull horns and tail was shouting, “The knees! You must be thorough in attacking the knees!”
In contrast to the girl, Vandalieu seemed to be observing Natania and Simon’s movements in silence.
But then, he began looking around him, as if something was bothering him. Perhaps there was something nearby, perhaps Hajime… or some of Fitun’s subordinates were lurking around – But as Misa began thinking this, she inadvertently shifted her attention onto Vandalieu.
Vandalieu looked up. He was breathing deeply in and out as he looked up at the empty sky above him.
Misa had become a part of the air; even from a distance, she was able to hear the sound of Vandalieu’s breathing – and thus, she came to realize one possible explanation for Vandalieu’s behavior.
Wait, did he notice me through his breath?!
The Five-colored Blades had sealed the Demon King’s nose, so Vandalieu couldn’t have acquired it. But it was possible that he had absorbed another smell-related or respiration-related fragment. It was possible that he had used such a fragment to detect Misa despite her being odorless and concealing the presence of her Mana or Vitality with magic.
I’m in danger if I don’t get away! Misa realized.
She quickly rode the wind to flee from the city of Morksi.
“Vandalieu-sama, what’s the matter?” Juliana asked.
“I just noticed a strange odor,” Vandalieu replied as he stopped looking up at the sky.
A strange odor… Vandalieu suspected that it was the presence of ‘Sylphid.’
He had heard about the ‘Sylphid’ ability from Kanako and Doug who had been her companions, as well as Baba Yaga, the one who had killed her in Origin.
According to them, the ‘Sylphid’ ability could only turn Misa’s own body into vapor, and anything she was wearing could not be turned into vapor. And even when in vapor form, she was not completely invisible. She could apparently be seen by the naked eye as a white, faint… like a wind ghost if one described her flatteringly, or like the ghost of a dead person if not.
But ‘Sylphid’ was an ability that had been granted by Rodcorte just like Kanako’s ‘Venus,’ Doug’s ‘Hecatoncheir’ and Melissa’s ‘Aegis.’ It would be possible to improve the ability through training.
Wary of the possible improvement of the ‘Sylphid’ ability, Vandalieu had created and placed Demon King Familiars and Golems around the city’s perimeter and on the roofs of several buildings, and they were capable of detecting the presence of Misa’s life force and Mana even if she was in vapor form.
But none of them had responded. It was possible that what Vandalieu had sensed a moment ago had just been his imagination.
“… Gufadgarn, do you know anything about this?” Vandalieu asked.
“No, Vandalieu. I have not sensed anything,” Gufadgarn replied.
As Gufadgarn hadn’t detected anything either, then perhaps it really was just his imagination… but Vandalieu didn’t think so.
He had just been told about the Flame Blades’ recent suspicious movements and that someone who could be assumed to be Hajime Inui was nearby. Given the timing, it was difficult to imagine that he had been imagining things.
It was likely that ‘Sylphid’ had acquired some ability that she had not possessed in Origin, though it wasn’t clear as to whether it was due to the improvement of her ability or the influence of some other factor.
And if she was invisible and not emitting any trace of Mana, then she was no different from the air. Even Gufadgarn would not be able to sense every single change in the flow of air.
But how do I stay on the watch for someone who is invisible, odorless and capable of concealing their life force and Mana? I can’t put up a barrier around the entire city and prevent anything from coming in and out, Vandalieu thought.
If the city of Morksi was separated from the air on the outside, Misa wouldn’t be able to enter even with an improved ‘Sylphid’ ability… but if done incorrectly, the entire city would die of asphyxiation.
… To begin with, a barrier that blocked all airflow – in other words, a physical barrier – would be noticed by the city’s people. It wasn’t a feasible option.
There was a surveillance network of Golems, Demon King Familiars and spirits in place, but it was impossible for them to monitor changes in the air.
However, that didn’t mean that there was no way to prevent Misa Anderson’s spying in the future. There was a basic method available – having important conversations and doing important things inside rather than outside.
“Everyone, let’s do important things in the Dungeon from now on,” said Vandalieu.
‘Sylphid’ was an ability that transformed Misa’s body into vapor, so it was likely that Misa would be able to enter buildings such as houses and towers as long as there was even a small gap available. But if she were to move after entering, there would be an unnatural movement of air inside.
She might be able to move freely inside large buildings with ventilation ducts, but it would be impossible in Vandalieu’s ordinary-sized house that was also entirely made of Golems.
And the Dungeon in the basement of the house was even more perfect. It had only one entrance, and this would not change unless Gufadgarn were to create more. Even with ‘Sylphid,’ Misa would not be able to enter a place that was not spatially connected to her current location.
If there was only one entrance that needed watching, then it would be possible to detect any changes in air flow.
… The easiest outcome would be for Misa to become overly self-confident or desperate to achieve something and attempt to assassinate someone. In that case, Vandalieu would notice through ‘Danger Sense: Death.’
Well, Vandalieu would not be able to sense anything if she were to target someone who was completely unrelated to him, so this was not necessarily a desirable outcome.
I have no intention of risking my own life to save people who have no connection to me at all, but… I am the Holy Son of the goddess of life and love, after all. And I’m just starting to gain society’s trust, too, Vandalieu thought.
“Very well,” said Juliana.
“Yes, Your Majesty,” said Princess Levia.
Meanwhile, the duel was unfolding in a way that Vandalieu hadn’t quite expected… Gordon was not receiving much damage.
“You damned cat bitch!” Gordon shouted, his face red with anger, as he charged at Natania.
Relying on the strength of his thick arms, he attempted to beat her down.
Though he couldn’t use martial skills, his fist had enough force behind it to defeat an Orc in a single blow.
“Whoops,” Natania said as she deftly moved her body out of the way and performed a leg sweep, causing Gordon’s enormous body to crash onto the stone pavement.
“D-damn it!” Gordon cursed with yet another graze on his body as he tried to stand up again.
“Rather than using pure force to smash his leg with her iron artificial legs, she used his own strength against him to sweep his feet out from under him,” Basdia observed.
“I thought she was just throwing punches in the beginning, but it seems that she is in full control of her artificial limbs as a part of her own body. It is splendid to see that she has come this far in less than a month,” remarked Zadiris.
Natania was controlling her artificial limbs skillfully. The spectators seemed to recognize this as well; some of them were watching with impressed expressions.
But Natania’s artificial limbs were not inorganic limbs; they were inhabited by her own spirit form, allowing her to control them and sense them as if they were a part of her.
“A-amazing… Even the dean of alchemy at the Mages’ Guild in the capital wouldn’t be able to create artificial limbs like that!” Jessie murmured as she watched the battle in excitement, under the impression that the artificial limbs were Magic Items.
The truth was that the ability to process metal was needed to build these artificial limbs, so perhaps it really would have been impossible for the dean of alchemy to make them.
“I’m happy that my apprentice has developed more than I expected… Before they started, I thought she would have broken a few dozen of that man’s bones with her metal limbs and that would be the end of it,” said Vandalieu.
“… Boss, you didn’t just forget about all of the terrible things he said about us after all,” said Simon.
“Of course not. He didn’t just call me a monster; he spoke poorly of my companions and apprentices right to their faces. He keeps referring to Basdia and Zadiris as ‘these Ghouls,’ too,” said Vandalieu.
Vandalieu wasn’t bothered by people saying one or two bad things about him. But there was a limit to that.
And Gordon was the kind of person who had made his way up in the world using violence. With that being the case, there was certainly no problem with repelling him with violence.
“But he’s a good sparring opponent for my apprentice, and he’s following the rules of the duel, so I’m going to forgive him,” said Vandalieu. “… So no turning him into meatballs, fertilizer or sending him into the labyrinth,” he added in a quiet whisper.
He could feel the disappointment of Quinn and Eisen who were inside him, and Gufadgarn who was remaining hidden.
“Natania, let’s get going,” said Vandalieu, deciding that it wouldn’t be productive to continue making Gordon a laughing stock.
“Then let me have a go,” said Simon, stepping forward in Natania’s place.
“Alright,” said Natania, seemingly satisfied with her one-on-one fight with Gordon and handing her prey over to her senior apprentice.
“D-don’t mess with me…!” Gordon groaned.
Unable to discern Natania’s true strength, the crowd began jeering at Gordon.
“All you’ve been doing is falling on the ground!”
“Are you drunk or something?!”
Having given up on the Ghoul women because he was unable to defeat the ‘Starving Wolf,’ Gordon had planned to save face by defeating Natania and Simon, but that had failed as well.
It had failed, but he was not gracious enough to give up.
“I can defeat you easily as long as I watch out for your right arm!” he shouted.
With his anger boiling in his head, he attempted to grapple with Simon. It seemed that his plan was to first grab his artificial arm to stop it from moving.
But as Gordon grasped the wrist of Simon’s artificial arm, the entire forearm detached at the elbow. Having used all of his strength to throw himself at Simon’s wrist, Gordon lost his balance.
“Well then, I’ll get you here!” Simon said and his left… his fist of flesh and bone, connected with an uppercut to Gordon’s exposed jaw.
The last thing that Gordon heard before losing consciousness was the surprised shouts of his followers as he gazed up at the winter sky.
Vandalieu and his companions made no complaints for damages after Gordon’s thorough public humiliation, so Gordon was not punished by the Adventurers’ Guild.
Normally, someone who tried to take another person’s familiars through threats and challenged the Guild Master’s daughter to a duel would be banned from the city’s Guild, but it was fortunate for him and his followers that they received no punishment.
Of course, that was not because the Guild was compassionate towards them, but because they had already been punished enough.
News of the duel that had occurred in Morksi’s large plaza quickly spread throughout the trading city, as well as the cities and villages nearby… People laughed as they spoke of how Gordon was a C-class adventurer who had lost to a thug, how he had thrown himself at a Beast-kin D-class adventurer only to be defeated by her as well and how he had challenged the Guild Master’s daughter to a duel, only to be defeated by her one-armed representative. Gordon’s public image plummeted into the dirt.
Several days after the duel, Gordon lost his ‘Strong Arm’ Title.
Following the wind, Misa took a detour as she returned to the base where her companions were hiding. It was some distance away from the city of Morksi, in a natural cave in a mountain that wasn’t a Devil’s Nest.
The group had not stopped at a single human settlement after entering the Alcrem Duchy, and they hadn’t hunted any beasts or monsters either. Thus, Vandalieu was unlikely to know of this location… If he did, the group would have been killed long ago.
Relieved that she had made it away safely, Misa deactivated her ‘Sylphid’ ability, causing an Elf girl wearing leather armor and holding a staff to appear from thin air.
In Origin, she had been unable to turn her clothes and possessions into vapor with her body, but now, she was able to do so with her clothes, armor and objects in her hands.
However, she could not turn any luggage on her back or heavy plate armor into vapor.
“I’m back. Things are largely the same as when I picked up rumors in the city three days ago,” she reported to her companions. “I’ll start going through the details now.”
“Alright, let us hear it,” said the ‘Odin’ Akira Hasamada.
He and the ‘Chronos’ Junpei Murakami wrote notes and drew a rough map of the city of Morksi as they listened, and they also wrote something on what appeared to be maps of the area around the city.
“But seriously, what is he thinking, running a skewered meat stall? At first, I thought he was planning to annex the Alcrem Duchy as a part of his own country, but there’s no sign of such a conspiracy at all. I can understand that he’s trying to draw us out, but… it’s hard to understand,” said Akira after Misa finished her report, pressing a hand to his forehead.
“I couldn’t investigate that far, so don’t ask me. With ‘Sylphid,’ I can hear the voices of people walking in the streets and strain my ears to some extent, but… I don’t want to go into buildings, and I followed your instructions to not go anywhere near the Adventurers’ Guild and Vandalieu himself,” said Misa.
Her information gathering had been limited to observing events happening outdoors and listening into people’s conversations, and as Vandalieu and his companions suspected, she was avoiding indoor spaces.
And she was even more careful of her surroundings than Vandalieu and his companions would have thought.
“That’s fine. In fact, it would be more problematic if you were to get too close and become noticed,” said Murakami.
Before Misa went to the city of Morksi, he had instructed Misa to not go near the Adventurers’ Guild or Vandalieu. At the very least, she needed to maintain a distance where she could escape immediately if needed.
Some of the adventurers going in and out of the Adventurers’ Guild had the ‘Intuition’ Skill at a high Level. It was possible that such adventurers would intuitively detect Misa, despite the fact that she was invisible and odorless.
As for not going near Vandalieu, that didn’t need to be explained. He was even capable of preventing Misa’s movements at a moment’s notice.
Ordinarily, it would be impossible to capture Misa when she was in vapor form. Even with prior knowledge of the ‘Sylphid’ ability, it would be impossible to immediately produce a container that could contain and seal one person’s body’s volume of gas, and having one on hand would be very inconvenient.
But with Vandalieu’s ‘Golem Creation’ ability, he could create a sealed container out of dirt on the spot. He could even just spill his own blood and use that instead.
As he was capable of manipulating blood, it wouldn’t be difficult for him to entrap Misa inside a bubble made of his own blood. Once she was trapped inside, it would be difficult for her to get out. In fact, it was likely that she would be immediately killed… and destroyed.
“But what are we going to do? At this rate, we won’t have enough clear information,” said Akira.
“… No, we have plenty of information. It’s not enough, but we can’t hope for any more,” said Murakami.
“What do you mean? It’s true that it’s difficult to investigate him, but if I keep doing what I’ve been doing a few more times, we should have more information to work with,” said Misa.
“That’s impossible. Rodcorte told us that he defeated Hihiryushukaka, the evil god of joyful life, right? But there hasn’t been any large damage to the city. In fact, there isn’t a single person whispering anything about the evil god, is there?” said Murakami. “In other words, Vandalieu is capable of defeating an evil god in the city of Morksi without causing any damage to the city or producing any witnesses. It’s clear that he’s made a Dungeon inside the city.”
“A Dungeon inside the city?! What the hell is he planning to do to that place?!” Akira exclaimed, his eyes opening wide in shock at Murakami’s wild speculations.
The appearance of a Dungeon inside a city would likely cause the destruction of that city.
There were cities that were built around a Dungeon’s entrance, commonly referred to as labyrinth cities. But that was only possible because labyrinth cities were built with the initial intention of building labyrinth cities.
There were walls and guard towers with soldiers stationed on them within the cities to deal with any monsters that came out of the Dungeons, and the residential districts for citizens were built on the outer parts of the cities.
It was only with these special measures in place that labyrinth cities functioned as a place for people to live and as a base for adventurers.
If a Dungeon was built in a city that didn’t have such measures, it would be impossible to maintain the city unless it was an incredibly low-class Dungeon.
“He’s obviously planning to protect the city,” said Murakami in response to Akira’s question. “There’s no doubt that he moved the battlefield into his Dungeon. I don’t know the exact details of the circumstances myself, but he probably used the power of the space-attribute evil god Gufadgarn.”
If the battle had been fought inside a Dungeon, then it made sense that no damage had been dealt to the city and there were no witnesses. In fact, this was the only explanation for this.
“Then it’s pretty much certain that he’s going to use that Dungeon when facing us as well,” said Akira.
“How problematic… If that’s the case, it would be pointless for me to keep entering the city for information if he’s going to be holding discussions in that Dungeon,” said Misa.
There was air in Dungeons, but… for the reasons that Vandalieu suspected, Misa thought it best to avoid the inside of a Dungeon.
“Yeah, so forget about the city. I’ll have you focus more on Hajime… on Fitun,” said Murakami.
“That guy? That guy’s even more difficult to work on…” Misa muttered.
She had been using ‘Sylphid’ to investigate not only Vandalieu, but the ‘Marionette’ Hajime Inui as well.
He and his group were hiding out near the city of Morksi, just like Murakami’s group… forming a faction and gathering fighting forces.
“Fitun is the battle-crazy wind-attribute god, right? I can’t let my guard down around most of them, too…” said Misa.
“I know it’s hard, but I have no choice but to ask you to do it. We’re weaker than them in terms of fighting forces, so if we want to kill Vandalieu, we have no option but to make use of them,” said Murakami.
His plan was to use Hajime’s group.
Of course, he had no intention of fighting over achievements. He had been told by Rodcorte through a Divine Message that the reward would be given to all the reincarnated individuals who had agreed to his request, no matter who ended up killing Vandalieu.
Rodcorte had likely decided that it would be problematic to have different groups hinder each other, considering that killing Vandalieu was already a difficult task.
“… I’ve been wondering lately. Is it even possible to kill him? And even if we did, wouldn’t he just turn into an Undead on the spot like he did in Origin and go for round two?” Akira questioned.
“Don’t get cold feet now, Akira. Rodcorte can’t touch Vandalieu while he’s alive, but the moment he dies, he’s under Rodcorte’s authority. He’ll forcibly seal him away or something, and that will be the end of it,” said Murakami. “If he doesn’t make it in time and Vandalieu turns into an Undead… we’ll have no choice but to run away.”

A Title that indicates that its owner possesses great physical strength. It is often acquired by power-fighting-type adventurers and knights, but it is also occasionally acquired by merchants, government officials and nobles.
It is not a particularly rare Title; like the Food Cart King Title, it is common for each region to have at least one person with the Title.

LMAOOOOOOO How’s it feel knowing that all of this chapter’s money went into buying mansions for Patrice Kahn Cullors???
This is what happens when you virtue signal. Maybe next time you should properly vet which quote-unquote “charities” you give your hard-earned cash to.
And in the future please for the love of God keep politics OUT of the escapism we pay you hundreds of dollars to provide to us. Thanks! 🙂

I would have loved it if Vandalieu had fought Gordon himself and made him a laughing stock by being effortlessly defeated by an 11 year old child.

Rodiot never told them about Vida’s incarnation system. So they are under the impression that Van would simply be a part of his. They have no idea that he has no control over souls of Vida’s races.
MadMaxton
Even if Vandalieu’s soul is no longer in his system, Rodiot should be able to grab it while it isn’t tied to anything, in the time between Vandalieu dying and turning into an undead/returning to Vida’s system.
He would have to expend a significant part of his power to descend to the surface of Lambda, but he would do it for something as important as this.
JKingSniper
Gordon really overestimated himself lol
Temp950
Wasn’t Van painting those mental encroachment images on the rooftops of buildings in Taloshiem and in the Scylla territory in order to stop spying from above? i would have thought he would be doing the same here too, so when Sylphid or anyone tried spying on him, they would either get influenced by his guidance or have their minds broken temporarily… I mean, he was doing that because he was afraid of being spied on and attacked, so it doesn’t make sense for him to suddenly stop. I wonder if the author forgot about that?
Rasho
You do realize that Painting means physically putting physical paint that is noticed by any single person who isn’t blind, yes?

I don’t believe it is possible to remove racism from world. Racism is in human genes. My country don’t really have strong racism, but you can fill trust or just will to make fun from people who are different. It does not mean just skin colour. It include all kinds of differences. Nationality, religion, even hair colour. In case of hair colour it is more noticeable in children. Adults may think it is just kids playing and a lot of time it ends as kids playing, but at the same time it show racist tendencies and some kids may grow as racists.
This is why I think racism is in genes and the reason is because humans don’t like or more like are afraid of different people. They fear different people may be better than them.
Also, it is often a case where some people use word racism to take advantage of others. This makes racism more popular, because people who took harm from this types of people will hate. Other thing is media. No media will write article about white policeman killing white man, but they will write article about white policeman black man. This creates impression about very strong racism, but it may not be as strong. And event may not have anything to do with racism, but problem may come from mental problem of policeman. White policeman will kill white man and no one will talk about it, but if the same white policeman kills black man, media will scream about racism. But him killing black man don’t have anything to do with racism. He just likes to kill people.
Chiu ChunLing
It depends on how you define “racism”.
The problem is that nobody is willing to be consistent in how they define the term, because then they’d have to admit that white people are basically the least racist folks around, no matter what definition you use.
Unless you explicitly say “having white skin is racist.”
Which is what most people mean by “racist”. And when they talk about a world without racism…yeah, they mean a world without white people.
Which is totally possible…just not very nice.
Johnp307
Eh, when people talk about racism, at least in America, they usually are talking about systematic racism i.e. the distribution of government spending and investment into neighborhoods/cities. If you’re talking about just hating people because of what they look like, black people definitely have the most animosity towards the white american, but trauma is generational so to expect anything different would be optimistic at best. And historically speaking, white people have fucked over everyone else and ran off with a bag, it’s either deep beef, or they just wave riding
Chiu ChunLing
Historically speaking, white people are the main reason 90% of the rest of the human population is alive right now. Though it doesn’t seem to be doing them a lot of good, which is why I’m not terribly upset that white people are going to stop doing that soon.

Thanks Yoshi, it means the world to me and others to know that you care. Thank you for translating this book. I appreciate everything that you’re doing and I wanted you to know how grateful I am and how much I respect you. Again, thank you.

I felt that someone should say this: Yoshi, thank you for you hard work! I believe that all of us readers are grateful for what you do!
Gohankuten
Lol they serious think that the moment Van dies he would be under Rodiot’s authority hahahahaha. That is hilariously wrong since Van is part of Vida’s circle thus Rodiot can’t do anything to him and Van himself is just as good at manipulating the soul lol.
Krixous
I wonder how Priest Gordan would do against Strong Arm Gordan in a duel, I mean one did have magic but dunno if the rules of a duel prevents the use of healing spells and obviously it would not prevent all magic cuz otherwise magic focused adventurer’s could not participate I mean obviously fly would also be frowned upon atleast.
jabo
I just realized, can van gain the cheat skill if he devours a reincarnated person? If so Itadakimasu….
OtakuOnCaffiene
If that is true
And he ends up eating Amemiya and gaining his abilities… Then he has affinities to all attributes and all 7 of Amemiya’s special abilities like defense null and stuff
Vitor
It’s impossible since Death atributte mana literally negates any other atribute, as shown when even Vida wasn’t able to grant him the life atribute, also, Amemiya’s habilities are useless to Vandalieu, he learned with the status system multi-cast and chant revocation, two of Amemiya’s habilities, and ignore defense is useless when he can use demon king fragments that already pierces barriers and defenses, not to mention that death atribute can literally “eat” mana, remember that Aegis was completly useless against Pluto’s death atribute mana
Yonko
I hope the thundercloud god is a big threat that nearly kills van so his companions can save him from murakami and co after he’s exhausted from battle, that would finally let the effect of gathering many trusted companions be seen and why he is so different from gudoranis

Haaaa… when foreigners and the uninformed attempt to talk about the 2) police and 1) racism… especially when those who go against the Only Black Lives matter Association are a combination of killed, removed from their livelihoods (jobs and even rented housing units), and harrassed. Along with no understanding about how the Us police work. 3) Please read all the way through till the conclusion before getting emotional this is raw statistical processing. The total info i have is:
1) By IS Legal and Webster’s (The American Dictionary) definition: Racism is a difference in treatment due to the physical appearance of your skin.
In America we have Affirmative action (laws and policies that purposefully devalue white people) and several studies about whether racism by White Americans is prevalent. Those studies debunked any prevalence of Racism by the White populus to the Colored committed by Americans, and confirmed prevalence of Racism by the Colored to the White population and even White on White racism (Affirmative action). In the end those studies are never talked about and are buried by the propaganda (funded by the communist chinese party who litterally own most of the news stations, from how their governments ownership works) and outrage mob (or more accurately, info via the American Justice Department, looters who don’t live in the area they are looting) that are confirmed to be bussed into the area by George Soros.
Looking at the prison/arrest statistics is bad shorthand because when you actually go into it most of the Colored arrests is from crimes committed to other Colored people (same with Whites) and White on Colored violence is less then the percentage of the population.
2) Now that we are through enough of the ‘cism stuff, lets get to the police. Unlike Japan, police in the US are mostly Controlled and Funded by their Local Elected Offical (Mayor), with a Extremely Low amount of State and Federal officers who are Controlled and Funded by the State and Federal gobernment respectively.
Most US police do not know the law they are to enforce since they legally do not have to and police academies are no longer mandatory. (nor exist in some states) If the Local Mayor says to ignore a Federal law… the Local Police either do so or get their funding cut. This along with not increasing police numbers in direct proportion to the total population has led to Small Overworked and Ineffective police forces in the Cities. These police are often times the Same Number as the Safer US towns with the Nicer cops who Live in the literal Areas they Patrol.
3) In effect, the whole thing has happened is due to Judgements made by people who are Overworked and Undertrained.
Thus some major reform is needed like passing state laws to make x cops for x pay per population mandatory with x cops from x area patrolling that area unless called in for backup, putting cops directly under the State Justice system, or getting federal legislation to make literal Judge Dredd’s that enforce all laws of the Federal and State.
For instance George Floyd would have probably never had died if All the police had Better Training, were Not Overworked, and Needed to Know The Law… that does not excuse the 3-4x Confirmed Murder Rates as compared to the prior 5 year average from the riots, nor the rioters that were bussed in.
As for the innocence of the cops involved in those things… US Law dictates innocent until proven guilty by the court of law so as of this moment they are all considered innocent and under investigation, though the restrainer has some damning evidence against him i do not think the other cops were paying attention to Gorge. They were more concerned with the crowd that gathered around them, trying to keep them away from police business, where if they were from an area closer to that place the locals may have given them more leeway to pay attention to George and the restrainer. I think it will end in 1 count of murder with other counts of negligent Manslaughter or let offs due to trying to keep the crowd away from someone they thought was properly doing the job. If it does not became an kill the chicken to scare the monkey scenario which i think it has become due to 90% of city cops quitting their jobs and moving away from the rioting cities.

I am French, and in France also the Black Lives Matter movement has been emulated, which I am delighted with, but it has started to drift.
He has merged with another movement, the Truth and Justice Committee for Adama, which calls for the reopening of the investigation for Adama Traore, whom he compared to George Flyod because he too is black and died during his arrest.
But the two cases are different. Adama Traoré was not improperly arrested because he was black, he was the subject of an investigation for “violent extortion”, and fled because he had 1,300 euros in cash and a sachet of drugs on him. There may have been a blunder but his death has nothing to do with racism.
Nevertheless, the Truth and Justice Committee for Adama accuses an “institutionalized racism specific to French colonialism” and it is helped by the “Indigènes de la République”, an extremist party which also accuses France of being fundamentally racist and which in at the same time, organizes meetings forbidden to whites, approve the Charlie Hebdo attacks, and are financed by Salafist groups from the Middle East, notably the Muslim Brothers.
Racism also exists in France, but we are not the United States. We have no case of police officers caught red-handed being acquitted against all odds, as in the Rodney King case. We had our first black general in 1793, Thomas Alexandre Dumas, two centuries before the United States. The First World War played an important role in the fight for racial equality in the United States, because the African-American soldiers sent to France discovered with amazement that segregation was not practiced. 171 were awarded the Légion d’honneur. General Pershing, head of the American contingent, will claim that they do not participate in the victory parade, because being acclaimed by white people could “give them ideas above their condition”. George Clemenceau will oppose it and the Americans will repatriate the black soldiers in advance for those deprived of this honor.
This is why I cannot support the Black Lives Matter movement in France, not when it is instrumental in attacking French values head-on. George Flyod deserves better than being brandished by hate fanatics who see Osama bin Laden as a modern Martin Luther King.
John34404
As i am more informed with the general US and Brittish situation i can firmly say that most of the stuff happening is as misguided as you described in your area. I have found most people do not remember what was taught to them in civics and history class because it was boring and felt like unneeded information at the time. So, when someone they think important enough tells them different then what is litterally written in the books… they go along with the Important person or go quiet… to not get destroyed by the important person’s followers.

I’ve thought about this for about a week now. Yoshi I absolutely love your translations. However there’s a time and place. Additionally from your own described background I don’t understand why are you even taking a side on this. As an Asian man “nerd” living in New Zealand, What makes you qualified to talk about race relations in America? Just remember the path to hell is often paved with good intentions. Obviously I promote the discussion of free ideas but when I just want to zone out and read about what my favorite death mage… I don’t know it just felt forced. I’m sure you’re a good person and you meant well but stay in your lane homie. I wasn’t gonna post this but after reading so many of the other comments that aren’t even about death mage. As a minority race myself, I understand things from racism from a young age. I did not realize I was still being racist to other people thinking I was not racist. I have dated multiple girls from different races, Black,White,Spanish. It didn’t matter to me. I always wanted to get to know the person. It was not until my time in service on board a submarine that it dawned on me I was racist. Once I knew “what” it was that made me racist, I was able to destroy it. I learned that I did not care WHAT your background was. All I cared about was “ Can you relieve me?” Was the person in question qualified to take over my watch. If yes, then Great 🙂 if not we’ll you were non qual. I’m always happy when I see someone qualified who can take my watch.
As for someone who lives in the states. I have to bring one thing up to attention. America was founded on slavery as an English colony. It was an important part of its history. Not a great history, but an important one, as it broke away from England. I think America is a joint ownership of English, Natives, and Africans after the revolutionary war. They were the start of America. Also America is Young as far as countries age go. Not even 250 years old. There was still slavery in other countries until 1981. I think Mauritania was the last country to abolish slavery.
My point is this. Racism will exist as long as we have a sense of self of that person is different from me. I’m glad the military destroyed that piece in me. It makes me look at each individual differently. It makes me try to understand who I am dealing with. Try to learn what their strengths are.
Heck I love anime and novels. I’m sure other people due too, why should I care what you look like. Can we not have a fun discussion talking about the things we like? I’m sure their are plenty of different ethnicities reading your work. Yet we can all agree we like reading it ;).
Once we make contact with another sentient species. I think we can finally look at each person and say we are the human race 🙂 until then we must struggle with it.
Enough seriousness, I now need to reread the chapter to remind myself what happened. Lol. Thanks for the chapter and Stay Safe!
Julian Skilton
Yoshi, you brought up several people alongside George Floyd, like Michael Brown. It was later revealed that all of the witnesses that said Brown was innocent weren’t actually at the scene or saw the altercation happen, which led to the charges being dropped. While I am not as familiar with the other names so I won’t say with certainty, a lot of supposed incidents didn’t actually occur as people like the BLM movement, social media or news says. I encourage you to always research incidents and always wait until an official report is released, so not only do you hear both sides, but your opinion is formed on the facts of the case, not on the outrage made by race baiters. The George Floyd incident was definitely a terrible tragedy, and I am glad that the cops responsible are being punished, but his case is one of the few that have made the news that are actually true. BLM is not a good group, whose actions and words have caused many off the incidents in the news, spawned many cop killings, and purposely causes people to distrust cops. They are just as racist as what they claim to fight. Again, always try to stay impartial, getting information from official sources which are backed by fact and not outrage and race baiters. I hope you stay healthy in these unique times and have a nice day.
Chiu ChunLing
I think that everyone is entitled to their opinion.
But where it is appropriate to express that opinion varies.
In this case, I feel it’s best not to use Yoshi’s comments section to express disagreement with how he uses his page. Though I appreciate that there is a difference between saying that there are two sides to the BLM issue and that most people who encounter them personally find them extremely racist and offensive (and occasionally lethally violent), and just trashing the value of translating Death Mage (whether by trashing the original story, trashing Yoshi’s translation, or posting spoilers).
I don’t feel like it’s a problem to acknowledge that BLM is controversial, though, or that they are defined by an extremely narrow view on “humanity”.
But I don’t like All Lives Matter either, cause frankly they don’t.
No Lives Matter is mainly a dark joke rather than a serious ethical position, but I agree with Van that many people make too much of the distinction between the living and the non-living.
no1
The discussion for this translated web novel are suppose fun, but since Yoshi brought up the current issue. Everyone’s opinions have made this discussion too serious, too awkward and too uncomfortable. I know that this current issue is serious, but wouldn’t it be better to keep these discussions fun and easy going and keep all other matters out of this discussion.
Darkshroud
Btw, I wonder if the reason why van didn’t use the worldpiercing hollow cannon against the evil god of joyful life is because it would destroy the dungeon and the town above it. Or would it be possible for it to do that even tho the dungeon is a separate space .

So like you read 200+ chapters of a story that’s in part about the systematic oppression of brown skinned people like dark elves and ghouls and how through both peaceful and outright violent means they assert their rights… and this is your position?
Do you blame Van for the actions of the pure breed vampires, or the Alda extremists in this fictional story too? Do you think Duke Marme wasn’t a corrupt bigot?
MasterofNone
y r u talking as if the oppression of the dark elves and ghouls are because of their skin color.
godturtleom
Yeah, they aren’t oppressed solely because of their skin color, but because of a long history of societal factors, deliberate misinformation, and racism. The societal factors are both because of ignorance of average people of their circumstances and suffering, and political and religious leaders perpetrating a false narrative of them as less worthy of basic rights.
…Am I talking about black people in the US or Vida’s new races in Death Mage?
heiro001
I just really don’t understand how people can compartmentalize to this degree. How can you be a fan of a novel that consistently paints you as the bad guys?
I mean there are commenters literally giving the same excuses Mirg shield nation citizens in this story gave for high priest Gordan burning Darcia alive in broad daylight. “She was a criminal who broke the law” “she deserved it”. What did they think when the writer of this book had lavish revenge scenes against the people who said those things? Where Densuke destroys their towns, or poisons their lands, or tortures and desecrates the killers those people defended?
Azmador
heiro001 and godturtleom i dont understand how people like you can be so delusional and biased to not be able to remember anything outside your narrow worldview.
First of Van(and he has admitted this on multiple occasions) is not fighting to end the oppression of anyone he is fighting for:
1.His survival.
2.His happiness.
3.The happiness and the survival of ALL of his friends not just the black and brown ones.
4.For the prosperity of his nation/empire and ALL of his subjects and allies.
5.To take vengeance on people who have wronged him or are a threat to the other 4 goals.
Van unlike you is not a racist and doesn’t give a shit about race he treats people as individuals and is a chaotic good character.
Second Vida races are not oppressed they are discriminated against in human societies much in the same way they discriminated against humans in theirs sometimes for good reasons.
Third despite having legitement reasons (unlike most brown and black people in European/White countries) to claim discrimination they don’t play the helpless victim in hopes of extorting more unearned privileges and power from Van or view the world in terms of human(white person) bad vida race(POC) good just last chapter Basdia and Zadiris acknowledged the fact that the ghouls habit of abducting women stealing from humans and even eating them was part of the reason they were treated as monsters. They are also making an effort to prove they are not what people think ghouls are instead of going with,,Some humans did something bad to a ghoul so i am justified in abducting raping killing and/or stealing from all of them and blaming them all for my problems”.
MasterofNone
i dont get y u are comparing a novel that is fiction to something that is happening irl which is not fiction
MBA
… Do you even realize that Doug, a black skinned human, was not treated as some sort of mixed race or whatever? People with black (Humans) and darker skin (including Dwarves) have always existed in Lambda, the problem they had with Vampires is that they follow evil gods, and you know, as a raw reader, certainly you know what Alda and Bellwood were thinking when they decided to exterminate all those races, right? Alda is already known to be related to Vida’s system, but do you remember Bellwood’s?
Plus, Van never said to stop the killing of wild undead and monsters either, just that the ones related to him are not like the wild ones. Van is not some superman, you mentioned Duke Marme, so do you mean that people who did “evil” things deserve to be used in inhuman experiments until they die? Such a humanist. 😡
Trying to mix a fictional story with bullshit politics made by children starts results in idiotic comments like this whole thread. Congratulations on your Virtue Signaling.

Van is not even in Rodidiot jurisdiction anymore, lol to them thanks for the chapter update…
I will save my opinion regarding the movement, as I’m not a North American, it was a tragedy, but here in Mexico is a daily occurrence(not daily but rather often) and people don’t actually respect the cops too much here, so they don’t let themselves be handcuffed or taken peacefully(more so if they did nothing(yeah)).

MastaWoo Do you know why people hate people like you it’s because you are massive hypocrites you claim to be against racism but all you see is rece you don’t really care about George Floyd all you care about is white guy did ex to black guy.
Brandragoon
I don’t think Van WOULD be under Rodcortes authority if he died. Van created his own pseudo-reincarnation cycle and he is technically apart of Vida’s cycle not Rodcortes.
That’s not mentioning that Van no longer has the soul of a mortal, even without his physical body he could still probably kill and devour murakami and his goons. And rodcorte would definitely have to physically fight Van in order for him to take Vans soul and as we all know Rodcorte is not very competent at fighting.
Black Gorgon
So van is like inmortal? in a sense that if he dies he will reincarnate in his own cycle in Talosheim eventually if nobody does anything, that if he doesn’t to be an undead and keep growing taller.
SuicidalSkeletin
Yes I agree, Rodcorte has lost authority over Vandalieu, but that doesn’t mean he wants the reincarnated individuals to know. I am sure that Murakami and his group aren’t aware and same for Fitun, well Fitun just wants to have a brawl.
I do think that Rodidiot just thinks he can swoop in and steal Van’s soul after he dies though, he probably hasn’t contemplated enough to understand Van can resist and even kill him.
Renrobt
Let’s be fair at this point they are probably considering how to seal and not kill Van. Especially the reincarnated individuals who already know that he was the one who turned into the Undead.
A fight where they have to put everything on the line and exhaust everything only for the guy they killed suddenly returning as an immortal undead with infinite stamina? Yeah no thanks.
Rodcorte, as much as an idiot he is, is the master of souls. The one thing he can definitely do is sealing away a soul. As long as someone associated to Him is near and the gods on Van’s side are obstructed, which we can be sure they will, as this is an opportunity Alda and others would jump at without hesitation, Rodcorte could snatch and lock away Van’s soul in his own realm, that is near impossible to invade even by the other gods.
Now whether that is actually the plan, or that he even thought about this is a different question altogether. Likely so far he is too aloof and confident that he would seriously consider doing something even close to this. And he is just a plain idiot so might as well never think of this until a different god or one of the familiar spirits point it out.
Donce
Van did not created his own pseudo-reincarnation circle. He just can pseudo-reincarnate others, because he can control souls.
All champions was not part of Rod reincarnation circle. They there from world don’t belonging to Rod reincarnation circle, but Rod was able to take they souls, or fragments of souls. So, Rod can take souls from Vida reincarnation circle if he wants.
But, yes, Van already are demigod, so he may be more powerful than Rod after he die and it will be Rod who will be eaten by Van if he tries to take Van soul after he is killed. But only Vida gods know it. Rod don’t know it and Alda don’t know it too. So, they do things with assumption Van is mortal.
Niias
Well indeed, racism can be found in many different forms. For example, in my country, although we don’t have things as radical as in the US, many people (aka the white, rich and spreaders of cultural and mediatic content) firmly defends Brazil doesn’t have racism. This in itself helps to maintain and makes it lots difficult to cure. It’s hard to understand how a society that’s 60% made of people with multiple ancestries (like myself, I’m part native Brazilian, African, Portuguese, Spanish, Polish, German and Jew). But it sucks when there are many people that says “I’m not racist but damn why did my kid was born black?”
New_guy_101
Thank you for the chapter and your support of the BLM movement. I understand why a lot of people have been adverse to the movement. As a black guy, in the past, even I didn’t really support the movement. I personally didn’t experience racism, so I didn’t really believe in this idea of systematic racism. After educating myself on the injustices in this country, I have come to realize that systematic racism is a very real issue in our society. The problem with this concept is that everyone can’t wrap their minds around it. People don’t see when black people are denied certain jobs based on their names alone. Systematic racism doesn’t mean that everyone in society is racist. It means that the way society is structured currently today has adverse ramifications on minorities in our society. Too address this issue we as a society have to be openminded and willing to make real and relevant changes and our society.
Azmador
Yes i agree people only see when black people are given all kinds of jobs because of their race to fill diversity quotas when more qualified whites and asians are being passed over in college admissions in fever of less qualified blacks to fulfill affirmative action quotas when major movie studios and gaming companies go out of their way to race swap existing characters to increase black representation when the irresponsible and/or even criminal behavior of black people and its results is being hidden justified and excused on a daily basis by almost all media when almost all corporations both big and smal many major politicians actors and regular people all around the world bend over backwards to show support and sympathy for black people when a criminal drug addict dies from either a drug overdose ore police negligence……
My point is because of the above mentioned things people can’t see the systematic racism agents black people so we need to do more i propose that all european countries and the US give diplomatic immunity to all black people so they can be above the law and be free to rape kill and steal without the risk of a racist police incident in addition all white people shude give all of their property and the countries their ancestors have built to black people and become their slaves to atone for their original sins of racism and slavery they should also kneel and grovel in the feet of black people when ordered to do it by a black person and apologize for their white privilege on a daily basis i know many white people are already doing it but we need to all be forced to do it if we are going to end racism.
Hasin
yeah yeah… systemic racism.. the absurd Idea that a crazy “intelectual” come up with that say that ONLY by existing, white people opress me, no matter if they are poor, have an handicap, sick or whatever…
And because this crazy ass have decided to export that stupid theory outside of the US we have to deal with it in europe too! even though what we have here have NOTHING in comon with the US!
I swear, people in the US are really bellow every expectation.
Anyway… The important point I originally wanted to make was….. WOULD YOU ALL STOP TALKING ABOUT THAT?
Not all of us are from the US nor care about what happen there. We come here to enjoy and support these beautifull and masterfull translation, not to discuss politics, racism or whatever.
Why does people believe than every creator, artist, CEO and Idontknowwhoagain HAVE to talk about that in place where these talks DON’T belong. Want to talk about that? go on dedicated places.
I swear, 3/4 of the coments don’t even talk about the chapter! >.>
Breloom
Dude, just why? Just how ignorant are you? This is the perfect place to talk about considering the story is in part about overcoming racism. Then i’m a African American man who lives in the U.S i’m 6’3 290lbs(131 kilos) I’ve been stopped multiple times just for walking down my street, I can’t even enter a Harris Teeter without getting all kinds of stares. One of the first lessons I was taught was I have two strikes against me straight out the womb, one for being black, and another for being a black male. It’s also the reason I have a name from the bible cause my mother knew when the time came for me to go out into the world she wanted people to judge me for my character instead of my name sounding black and my applications for loans and jobs just go into the garbage. Racism is so ingrained in our society the country doesn’t want to listen. They’re more content on keeping things the way they are, than dismantling the system that been in place to systematically disenfranchise us. Even though there are protest in almost every major city in the country governments are still resistant to change. If you look up American news you’d see constant report of people being beaten and tear gases by the so-called people that’s supposed to protect us. People protesting all over the world helps us because it puts pressure on the American government on an international stage to where they can’t just suppress it by sending the national guard and police at it. Hearing different people in different place talk about helps the message spread to more people.
Azmador
Breloom sorry to inform you but the primary job of the government isn’t to protect you its to enforce the law punish crime and deal with crisis situations such as RIOTS wars ecological and natural disasters i a white person have also been stopped by police for walking down the street ore when driving multiple times so i guess i should convince myself it was because of systemic racism against me and not because the police were doing their job also your paranoia when people are looking at you is not racism it your own personal feelings and delusions or just maybe the result of people being cautious because of the criminal actions of other black people as for the rest of your delusions read my first comment heare and the one lower in the page.

Democrats generally run on the idea that they are fighting against racism. can’t have the black vote if there isn’t racism. LBJ has said some racist stuff about black people when talking about welfare and it being the ticket to the black vote for the next century. If you go back hundreds of years to before the founding of the country back in Bacon’s rebellion when both Poor White Indentured Servants and Black Slaves had united in rebellion against White Land owners, the aftermath of which was the development of the concepts of Black and White People Categories of racism. In order to stop the Poor Whites from uniting with the Blacks, the poor whites were told that they were superior to the blacks and could be like their rich white overlords. Now, the concept of racism itself and calling one side racist is used as a weapon to control the populace. As the populace has gotten smarter, so too have our overlords in their ways in tricking us. Media and these popular movements are funded and lead by very powerful people with lots of money. The more popular something is in the media, the more I suspect something shady is going on.

I’m sorry but the name BLM is a fucking joke to me I can only see it as some sort of meme lmfao (I’m black)

It’s more a scam than a joke. The Salvation Army does more to help people than BLM ever will, and guess which one has the largest budget to operate with?

(Post in portuguese) É!
A onda do politicamente correto me fez a alguns anos atrás rever meus conceitos e até minhas piadinhas…

Either Simon or Natania needs to work on their Spirit skills. Need us some ROCKET PUNCH!
Thanks for the release. Just finished my third re-read from the beginning this morning to find something new, yay! … And now to wait for more… boo!

Absolutely waiting for a rocket punch
Lord Rin
I’m pretty sure Van is expecting that of Simon and Natania since he told them to learn the Long-Distance Control and Materialization skills which would be practically a prerequisite for a Rocket Punch.

I think after this situation Van needs more demon king fragrments….it’s time to collect!
no1
Yeah I would like to see Van collect more fragments, seriously how many fragments are even out there, that are left? The last fragments he collected was the tentacle and shadow. He already missed out on 3 fragments, the nose, needles and oviducts. Wonder how will he get them if they have been taken and sealed and what other fragments he will acquire next.
jonnymad7
he can undone the seal if he find the fragments, i think!

How strong is Van’s nose that he can smell Misa? I’m excited to Hajime vs Van fight and whatever Junpei does next.
I’m glad you get to speak in this time of unrest and be heard by a lot of people. The police brutality that is happening right now saps me of my emotional stability. In the Philippines, we have a small version of what is happening in the US. They even passed a law to furthermore give power to the government and rob the people of its voice, it’s saddening. I hope we can get through this time of unrest in the world and come out better but the pessimistic side of me doubts it. Stay safe everyone.

The thing with racism is… it doesn’t matter what color you’re in. If you pick a side, that in itself is racism whatever the motives are. What it boils down to is the moral high ground or the means to push through your ideals. In that sense, Hibiki and Makoto’s convo pretty much has it when it comes to racism.

Started reading this about two months ago and let me start off by saying thank you for all the superb work translating it. I check back for updates at least twice a day; i may have a bit of a problem, haha.
Secondly, i only just now decided to sign up for an account here, because as someone living in America, amidst the atrocities occurring to my fellow man all around me by others who bleed the same, cry the same, laugh the same- i couldn’t let this go without saying THANK YOU! I believe when we have the mindset you’re showing, little by little, we can lead by example. We can teach love, not prejudice. Thank you for baring your thoughts, your feelings, and your support. Murakami… I just… I don’t even know how to explain how much of an idiot you’re being. Guess it’s an itemized list:
1. “Don’t get cold feet now, Akira. Rodcorte can’t touch Vandalieu while he’s alive, but the moment he dies, he’s under Rodcorte’s authority.”
How do you know this? That’s rhetorical, because the answer is he doesn’t know. He wants to believe it. He wants to believe so much he’ll stand a chance, he’s making up advantages he doesn’t have.
2. “He’ll forcibly seal him away or something, and that will be the end of it.”
Or something? OR SOMETHING? You are dealing with an impossibly-illogically-powerful being that can EAT GODS. There’s no room for “or something.”
“Jeez, King Ghidorah has awoken from his millenia-long slumber/invaded Earth again. Better get Godzilla to duke it out with him or something.”
“Man, fucking Cthulu is being an asshole over here, converting followers and driving folks to madness just by his eldritch voice. Why don’t we get him to sleep again or something.”
“Oh shit, Galactus is hurtling towards Earth on an imminent path of conquest and/or annihilation. Better call the Fantastic Four or something.”
You’re not a high schooler without plans for what to do afterwards. You were apparently a teacher, so I have to ask, did you decide to teach math
“or something” when you woke up in the morning? There isn’t room for ambiguity. You need a plan, one with backups and contingencies. Not a vague-as-hell “or something” riddled conclusion!
*Side note, this may just be a translation thing, but I trust Yoshi and the context to assume he hasn’t really thought out this plan, and Yoshi just chose “or something” as a means to communicate that.*
3. “If he doesn’t make it in time and Vandalieu turns into an Undead… we’ll have no choice but to run away.”
Oh, OK. Pardon me, then. I didn’t realize you can just run away from him. Not only him, but:
A. His assorted followers, most of which are incredibly strong and fast, and given that Asagi couldn’t seal Martial Arts I doubt your Chronos can do the same.
B. Any Undead he creates, as he could simply create bugs to track you wherever you go and you’d be none the wiser.
C. The literal Space-Attribute god that hangs out in his general vicinity every second of every day – that you know about – and have no counter against.
I didn’t realize Lambda runs on Outlast rules. You just run and hide in a locker and Van’ll be like “Oh shit, where’d they go?” Please forgive me for my impudence.
4. “We’re weaker than them in terms of fighting forces, so if we want to kill Vandalieu, we have no option but to make use of them.”
Well thank Vida that Fitun has apparently already taken over Hajime, because the idea that Hajime wouldn’t want to kill you after you:
A. Lied to him and murdered him under orders.
B. Gave him paranoia to the point he was afraid to reincarnate because he believed you would track him down and cripple him so he couldn’t escape.
C. Made no prior communication with him to address these issues and offer a truce.
It’s a good thing he’s totally gone, right? And you know this, because…
I think I’ve got it. I think I’ve figured out why I hate Murakami. It’s because he’s basically a mini-Rodcorte.
Think about it.
Like Rodcorte, he constantly starts a plan, but then arrogantly assumes when he’s planned enough and then stops, only to be surprised when his lack of care blows up in his face as unforseen forces interfere.
Ignores all contrary information to his beliefs, despite being told this information by literal angels, one of which has the computational and reasoning skill of a supercomputer.
Resorts to extermination of a threat as good first option, despite negotiation not being completely off the table.
Will discard anyone else as worthless the second they don’t meet his standards, only said standards are defined by what he needs in the immediate moment.
Honestly, does anyone else agree? I mean, Rodcorte didn’t take part in the champion summoning, but if he did, I couldn’t think of a better candidate. He represents Rodcorte’s arrogance, apathy, laziness and sociopathy even better than Bellwood represented Alda.
VEreality
The real funny thing about Murakami and his group is the fact that they belive that two years of watching from the sideline are enough to give them all the information they need about Van. None of them understood the “the gods of this world and Rodiot have no idea what is the extend of Vandalieu’s power” part. Here they are thinking they have all intel.
Also, while I don’t want to play the devil’s advocate, that “or something” looks to me like he has a lot of fate on the fact that he has the destiny of a hero because of Rodiot. Something that could be useful IF they had any chances to win.
Entropy
Well it could be that Murakami’s group believe that Vand will hunt them down and kill them so it might be better to take the fight to him while he is limiting himself. I agree, stupid logic, but these three are assuming that if they can kill Vand, they will get dream lives when they die, so they are okay with a suicidal attack as long as Vand dies too. I do wonder how Vand detected the air girl. Maybe the use of lungs and/or gills combined with the tongue helped him find her. I know the nose is sealed due to Heinz’s group. If Rodcorte really was doing it smart, he should wait to reincarnate the people until at least 30-60 of them have died. Another option would have them go with long-lived races such as elves. Build an army of Bravers and have them fight with Alda’s group of heroes and a few gods. They might get lucky and kill Vand. This plan would probably take about sixty years to achieve, but it would have the best chance of success. Another possibility would be to use a weaken demon king or a similar weapon of mass destruction and deal with the fallout after Vand is dead. Both of these plans would need to get Vand alone and have him not gain any more power so the chances are very small. As for getting Vand in his circle, Rodcorte might be able to pull it off in a way similar to how legion was created. Right now Vida is weaker than most of the main gods and with Alda’s help, Rodcorte could steal a soul from her circle.
Valeth
I get what your saying just the part at the end with Vida being weaker may be a little off.
Vida has a large amount of people, including Van’s undead worshiping her accelerating her recovery to a point that even astonished Alda. In addition she does not need to set aside any power to maintain the world currently sense Alda stole her Divine Authority over the life aspect.
We are not exactly sure of how strong she is at this point, but she has been shown to already be doing things that Alda said should of taken her hundreds of years to regain the power to do already.
Jago
Redcote possibly has a backup plan, the one he already tried to use, detaching himself from Lambda, Origin, and Earth circles of reincarnation. He will lose a bit of power but he will be safe.
He was stopped by Van speaking about him to his people, so Redcote is recognized as a god by them. That makes detaching from that section of the circle of reincarnation difficult, but still possible. He only needs time to do it correctly, and the reincarnated people and Aida faction are buying him that.
But him being Redcote it is possible that after failing the first time he hasn’t thought to work on that.
Lord Rin
Of course he’ll never try again. He hates having to actually put in any effort in anything he does. That’s why everything keeps coming back to bite him on the ass.

Oh dear it seems the bitches weren’t aware that Vandalieu is part of Vida’s circle of transmigration
Akuma the holy
Rod can overrule another circle to do stuff like grabbing vans soul, it just requires him to actually work, and if you haven’t noticed he never does more than nessicary, except when it comes to stopping van, even to the point of hurting himself so he didn’t have to work to try and stop van (rod trying to remove 3 planets from his reincarnation management just so he didn’t have to deal with it anymore) . Instead I think Van has things in place to make it so his soul can’t leave his body or it’s immediately moved to another body immediately on death.
TheTrueDeathGod
Rod can’t take Van’s soul because he is in Vida’s circle. Rod had explained to Alda that he can’t interfere with the souls of Vida’s circle unless she lost her god-hood or she destroyed her circle herself. Also, Van is a Demi-God, which is a god with a physical form.
Darkshroud
Plus, even if van dies, he can still act since he has soulform and spiritform. Do if rodcorte tries anything, he can fight back and break him
Absolute Zer0
Actually, Rodiot descending to Lambda will make matter simple. Since he almost has no combat capablity and experience. To all-out fight against Van he is almost like all-you-can-eat buffet. At least after dozens of chapters i think it will be.

Thank you Yoshi, for the chapter and the support for the BLM movement. It seems that some people here just seem to not care about the Many people facing problems and racism today. However, I value your support and what you had to say about the things going on. Thanks again for the chapter and I hope you have a wonderful day

Well the BLM movement is lead by and heavily funded by very suspicious people. And how that money is used is very suspicious too. Kind of like PETA and the Susan G Komen Cancer thing. George Floyd death is more of shitty police practice than about race. Police are generally fucked up here kind of like our privatized prison industrial complex where private prisons get money for however many prisoners they have from the state and they do shady shit to keep people in prison longer than their original sentences like say they had bad behavior. I have seen BLM protesters attack people for saying that all lives matter. Donations to political movements are probably as helpful to ending racism as donations to save starving children in impoverished countries that actually end up going towards funding warlords in those countries. Just very suspicious for all of this to occur right after what Biden did.
Dr. Michael Baden did the Autopsy on Floyd. The same doctor that did it for the JFK assassination, OJ simpson Case, and Epstein
Evelys
I really hope Van-sama can go to To Aru universe, and repair the f*cking brain of Touma so he can remember Misaki….
Absolute Zer0
i hope Van will re-construct his soul few more times before ascending to godhood since at this rate majority believers of God of Death will be suspicious individuals with particular fetish (just like me).
And here is our ignorant heretics who dares to blasphemy one and only Omnipotent and Omnipresent Vandalueu-sama. Their sin can only be atoned with their total, utter destruction. Let them offer their Unique Skills for The Great One.
Jokes aside, their chance to kill him is worse than chicken egg getting out of Black Hole unscatched. And they are going around with happy-go-lucky attitude. Really ignorance is bliss in this case. Gosh! If they knew his full power then those guys will be digging to core of planet by now.
no1
I’m not sure about him reconstructing his soul again. While is soul might be use to being broken then reconstructed, it seems to hinder Van when his soul is in pieces. But it is curious, if he does, accidentally, break his soul again, what would it look like after being reconstructed again.
Bushtuckrman
Can you leave your opinions at the door though. I am sick of this race baiting and race dividing shit. He was an ex felon junkie with lethal doses of fentanyl and also meth in his system who once broke into a womans house, put a gun to her pergnant belly and then beat her in front of her 1 yr old baby before robbing her. I have no sympathy that he died while getting arrested. If you’re going to play the game like he did then don’t cry if you find yourself on the shit end of the stick.
I wish people got even 1/100th this upset when our Australian girl was murdered by a cop shooting her through his car as he sat inside when she was pleading for help from a sexual assault in progress. But nobody cared, I guess because she was white if the indication of a black junkie woman basher being praised world wide is anything to go by.
This was about cop brutality, not racism. But its turned into racial division and all its doing is weakening our countries while those who rule us laugh on. It will happen in your part of the world just as surely as it is in America and even where I live in Australia now. The elite who rule above us want us to burn each other to the ground and destroy our societies at the same time.
I am happy I am 39 and got to live my youth free of the brainwashing propaganda of this decade. I’d rather be the goth that we all were back then instead of the brainwashed nutcases of today being used as useful idiots.

Thank you for the chapter, Yoshi! I’d also like to commend your support on the BLM movement and your thoughts against racism in general. Edit: I’m kinda torn, I don’t necessarily like being reminded of the state of the US these days but I also like it when people use their platforms to put emphasis on the recurring problems that needs to be addressed, so there’s that.
Okay, I did not expect Van to go on spectator mode considering his words in the previous chapter. But hey, now people would wonder how on earth did Van help Simon and Natania back on their feet instead. Seems like anything the others do at this point would always lead to more rumors of him. Also, looks like Murakami’s group are smarter than I originally thought.
Jonathan Hurd
I think Van was probably talked down(begged down) by Miles lol, with some help from Chipuras. Saying basically to think of Miles image and to let the apprentices show off their improvement.
Dean1997
As Morgan Feeman said: “How do you stop racism? Don’t talk about it.” So the first thing many people can do in combating it is shutting the fuck up and not making a huge deal out of things and acts nobody was bothered with. Racism isn’t everywhere, and saying it is only serves to belittle the actual horrible deeds that have happened.
Tejing
There’s a lot of wisdom in that quote. It’s not the whole story, but it is an important point to consider.
Nobody2
You can’t delete comments so I have to do this.
godturtleom
That’s a convenient narrative. Let’s google what Morgan Freeman has to had to say lately… And here’s a quote from Freeman’s instagram from yesterday.
“Being a storyteller, I believe that is important to champion each other’s unique voices. For the next week, if you are willing to share the personal stories you’ve experienced with racism, I’ll dedicate my platforms to amplify your voice.
“The time has come. Remember we all have a part to play in this story of change.”
And five days before that:
“#BlackLivesMatter #JusticeForGeorgeFloyd”
Ignoring a problem can sometimes be a solution, but not in this case. It’s arguable about what are the most effective ways to deal with issues of racism and police brutality, but almost no one is saying to just pretend those issues don’t exist and hope that they go away tomorrow. Racism and other forms of discrimination may not feel like they are everywhere to you or me, but their effects spread far beyond what is apparent. They definitely exist outside of the United States, which is why there are similar protests going on in other parts of the world.
Dean1997
I’ll refrain from arguing when we should be discussing the WN, but I’ll just say this: take everything said in this turbulent time with a grain… No, a truck of salt. Those that speak up against the tide only end up being swallowed by it, and nobody wants that to happen to them.
godturtleom
That’s a very introspective look at yourself, and I’m glad you’re reconsidering your earlier comment. It’s great that you’ve realized that an interview from fifteen years ago does not fully encapsulate Freeman’s current views. If you go back just five years ago and read his response about similar protests in Baltimore, it’s apparent that he felt silence was no longer an appropriate response to racism then.
Here’s the quote, for reference:
“That unrest [in Baltimore] has nothing to do with terrorism at all, except the terrorism we suffer from the police. […] Because of the technology—everybody has a smartphone—now we can see what the police are doing. We can show the world, Look, this is what happened in that situation. So why are so many people dying in police custody? And why are they all black? And why are all the police killing them white? What is that? The police have always said, ‘I feared for my safety.’ Well, now we know. OK. You feared for your safety while a guy was running away from you, right?”
Vastorn
Racism is something that runs deep into our society. I’m not from the US, but of Latin America. There’s an stupid amount of racism and xenophobia between latinamericans, it’s something always present since the most tender age and let’s not even talk about our indigenous people, labeled as terrorists and systematically killed by the government (at least here in Chile). The US protests against police brutality reminds me so much of the brutality I saw in my own country just before and during quarantine, I can only send my best regards to everyone that’s on the streets, fighting for what’s right and for what we call justice. Never forget what you’re fighting for and never forget the people that were killed and mutilated, I hope the US sees a brighter end to all of this.

That being said and returning to Lambda… is Fitun actually thinking of fighting Van, NOW? I could’ve swear he was going to grind a lot more… maybe Hihiryushukaka’s dead made him anxious? Also Murakami’s… maybe they’ll get away this time and end up err, cooperating with Asagi’s (was that Mage Smasher name, right?) to seal the death element? That would be somewhat amusing, considering how that guy is…
Well, anyway. Fitun’s going to become more food, yay.
Alex-dono
Thanks for the Yoshi for the chapter and thanks Timothy H. for sponsoring this chapter.
Honestly, the state of the world makes me wish I was reincarnated into lambda. I live in the U.S but only found out about this stuff 3 days ago. It has yet to reach or affect me and none of my family is crazy enough to go out and protest when the second wave of COVID-19 is coming but I can understand why people feel so strongly about this I simply don’t. I despite being African American have been fortunate enough to never have experienced acts of violence or blatant discrimination. (The worst thing that has happened to me was that I’ve been followed around a store) Although I am black I identify as part of the human race before I identify as the African american race so I don’t see the point of faulting a whole racial group for the actions of certain members nor do I feel the need to rise up with other blacks because I fell we are all humans and should just act like that. Humans were given sentience but right now people are acting like rival wolf packs fighting over territory.

If there is one thing we’ve seen time and time again is that Rodidiot can and will make things worse for himself. I can just imagine him coming down to try and seal Van only to get a big chunk of himself bitten off in return.
RipDisqus
Hey I support end to all racism but I think this is just the worst time to do this, you know in the middle of the pandemic and undoing all the work the lock down did and further ruining the economy if another wave comes.
So yeah I highly suggest not doing these protest stuff for now where ever you may live in guys.
Virus doesn’t care about skin color
AwesmePersn
While I agree that the virus doesn’t discriminate on skin color, I do think its important to realise that many have idle time due to job loss. It’s a double wammy of sorts. The people less likely to be able to afford disease protection are more likely to protest due to stress and unused time. And the federal government isn’t helping things in the slightest . . .
I just think its important to consider contributing factors to understand the situation better.
Imagine if Van was the president instead . . . that could actually be pretty good, come to think about it. Van could cure the disease too.

Van is a demi god he doesent even need his psysical body I think him turning into an undead would actually be a power up
Supreme king
Leaving aside wether he’s a god or not yet for now he would probably get screwed by rodcorte hard if he dies man rodcort is even a level above Alda in terms of plane of being though he can’t fight for shit the power should still be there

Thank you for the chapter.
Also thank you for sharing your opinion, experiences and talking about how it made you think and reflect. I have done the same and started to reflect more on my past. I hope more people do too. Lastly thank you for trying to make a change by donating, I appreciate it. I feel everyone has a right to use their platform to speak about what they believe in or feel, regardless of its business or personal. Even if you’re not from the US or black this affects everyone.
stay true to your self can keep up the good work, stay safe.
Yoshi
If at least one person thinks like this, then my post has made a difference. Thanks.
Raidanzoup
Jessie may actually become a fixed character in this town now that she’s been smitten by those limbs.
Thanks for the chapter, thanks for the BLM shout-out, thanks for your anecdote.
Binge-reading this the last few weeks with everything going on, I don’t think it’s too much of a stretch to speak out about it here, at the very end, in a special TLN section. Some people may be miffed they’re having their happy place encroached on, but just take another look at the themes of Death Mage and reevaluate that stance.
Tejing
Yeah, I smell Van’s second apprentice.
Nguyen Tran Duong Hoang
I thought Simon was the second one?
Lord Rin
He is. I think Jessie would be… fourth? I think Natania is third but I’m not sure.
Tejing
I was thinking of Simon and Natania more as students than apprentices, though I admit there’s not a lot of distinction.
Hasin
So… they are going to use hajime? Really curious about what will happen.
Anyway, yoshi, I think you shouldn’t talk about that here at all. To be clair, I don’t understand WHY everyone should talk about it. What you’re saying is nice, and we’ve all had our share of racism (even got beaten for my color skin once so I’m well placed to know that…)
…BUT :
What I or You think isn’t relevent. especially here.
If I run a factory making shoes, why the hell would I comunicate on that issue? I’ve seen people complaining that this company or that organisation didn’t communicate on that. But why would they? they are not political. a sport or industrial company isn’t concerned about that. And I don’t know for you guys, but I don’t want to have to read the same comment/expression style for every hobby I enjoy.
If individuals want to express their though about it, they can do it on their own, not by using their company’s site or account.
In short, people come here because they support your work and enjoy reading your translation. Not to be reminded of the events that happen in a country we are not necesary related to.
On a personal note, I think the events and the peoples are terrible and horrible. For both sides. But I would prefer that people not from the US stopped caring about them. It’s their territory, their citizens, their crimes, their problem. we already have our owns and we really don’t need to import their problem where they don’t belong.
edit : see all the controversy in the coment? That’s why I’ve said that these kind of message had nothing to do here.
SaMu
Thanks very much to Timothy H. for paying for this chapter, and Yoshi for translating it
I say no to racism and no to tribalism. What is happening in US right now: the violence, the media lies and fake news, and the divisions, is tragic and stupid. We all agree to that. All lives matter. Every life lost to violence is a testament to man’s inhumanity to man.
That being said, Black Lives Matters isn’t the same one when it was founded. It’s just a tool now. A propaganda machine. The people on the ground believe in the cause and God watch over them, but the BLM brass sold out a looong time ago
DragonkingKyo
not to mention a good number of BLM are racist themselves especially to whites and have said some very disgusting things like kill all white including kids and from what I watch today one BLM activist was caught bring weapons and gas can to a protest

Yoshi
George Floyd was a criminal ho threatened(with a gun to her stomach) and robbed a pregnant woman he was on 3 different types of illegal drugs when he died(possibly from a heart attack caused by those drugs) resisted arrest and was being arrested for committing yet another crime.
Ahmaud Arbery died while he was attempting to wrestle a gun away from a person who was trying to detain him until the police arrived under suspicion of him being a burglar and there is footage of him trespassing on a construction site.
Michael Brown had just rob a store and assaulted an employee in it resisted arrest was on drugs and had a lengthy arrest record.
Breonna Taylor and her boyfriend ware shooting at the police and we suspected in drug dealing.
They are all being portrayed as innocent helpless victim by the media worldwide and their deaths ar bing used to justify the commitment of countless more crimes and murders and racism is being presented as the cause of their deaths instead of their own actions or simple negligence by individual police officers.
But interestingly enough there’s almost no media attention on the hundreds of thousands off white UNDERAGED girls ho have been and currently are being groomed prostituted raped tortured trafficked exploited killed by mostly POC gangs all over europe.
90%+ interracial crime is POC on white(almost 100% of rape) .
90%+ of black homicide victims were killed by other black people.
90%+ of gang members are POC
Black people are 13% of the US population but are responsible for 50%+ of all murders there are many more statistics which prove black people are overrepresented in committing almost every type of crime but still more white people are killed by police.
Blacks and POC in general are given preferential treatment in hiring housing admission in schools and colleges …via affirmative actions and diversity programs receive and use a disproportionate amount of government assistance and welfare subsidies.
Around 250 year of slavery in america where blacks who were enslaved by other blacks in africa and sold to mostly Jewish slave traders and were forced to work in the production of crops such as tobacco and cotton is used as as an excuse to justify the bad and irresponsible behavior and lifestyle of black peopel today and is given wide coverage in the media schools colleges and movies.
The Arab and African slave trades which were far more brutal and long lasting are almost never mentioned for instence we bulgarians were slaves to the ottoman turks for 500 years a time during which bulgarians ware forced to convert to islam(ore be killed),forced to pay a blood tax(every family is forced to gives a able bodied boy or girl to the turks boys ware send to asia to get castrated forced to convert to islam brainwashed and sent back as bashy bosuk to kill their own people girls to become sex slaves in turkish harems),grown man ware forced to pay for the right to carry their heads on their shoulders churches and national monuments ware burned evidence for 1000 years of bulgarian history ware hidden ore destroyed every attempt for opposition wase met with brutality and slaughter of men women and children(for example batak massacre),brutal executions, rape of girls and boys, bulgarians are called gaurs(cattle)…is currently being called turkish presence and coexistence by the media and in schools.
I can go on and on but in general there really is institutionalised racism in the west but it is against europeans.
If you want a world without racism you should stop listening and believing the media which is owned and controlled by the most racist and evil people to ever walk the earth.
Anyways thanks for the chapter.
SaMu
TL;DR White people are victims of racism too. Shocking, but not news worthy, says Media.
The slave trade never stopped. In the middle-east, actual young slave girls kidnapped from europe, africa, and asia are sold in markets and bazaars, chain and all, in broad daylight. Media says nothing about it ever. Too focused on slave trade that happened centuries ago.
Don’t blame Yoshi, man. Blame the Media, and Facebook and other Social Media. They are now all propagandists for Socialist Extremists.
Yoshi, read as much as you can about these issues from different sources to verify the truth. It’s not that it is hidden, it is just swamped out by the distracting lies propped up by these self-righteous fools
Funky K
I need to disagree with your statement regarding to Gorge Floyd. Even though he had a criminal record it isn’t an excuse for him to die in police custody. Once an officer has arrested you, your life is his responsibility and it’s the courts job to make judgments and hand down justice or prove your innocence. This includes the case with Ahmaud Arbery, regardless of what he was doing or had done trying to take the law into your own hands is still illegal unless it is justified self-defense. For everything else, I’m glad to see you’ve done your research and I hope that one day there will be a movement as large as this one to address those tragedies.
Azmador
Gorge Floyd died from either a drug overdose/abuse and/or the negligence of an individual police officer Ahmaud Arbery because he decided it was a good idea to attack a person with a gun neither of them ware innocent and helpless victims of racism.

What if Van-sama was in isekai quartet wonder how he would react to the other characters or how others would react to him Being a god-king as an 11-year-old with whole nations of people worshiping him as well as his insane amount of mana and believe powers that make him more power that some gods. Aqua and Tanya’s reaction to him eating god would be hilarious
moonlightswallowtail
BEEEEIIIINNNGGGGG X
Dyneamaeus
And now I really wanna see this. Everyone in quartet(that I can remember) would be able to detect his mana in some way, and his face makes other people project onto him. It would be an awesome basis for interactions.
Irazori
It would be nice for Van to have a (somewhat) normal school life. Though I feel like Van would probably murder aqua, since she seems like a pro-alda shithole towards undead, especially if his mother was still a spirit if he got transported.
Kazuma would perv on Basdia, Megumin would kinda get along with Zadiris, darkness would be avoided at all cost, especially by Vigaro and the races Van created . Pauvina would be besties with Filo.
VEreality
I had this thing in mind for months XD
I had a couple scenarious in mind about it:
1) Aqua tries to fight him only to get scared to the point of freezing in place once he looks at her with eyes full of hate.
2) Have the class ( the bad bitches aka Ainz and his gang and Tanya aside) scared of him after they learn that he is the Demon King.
However, the most interesting would be his interactions with Ainz and the floor guardians and our shield hero.
I know that Ainz has a lot of mana, but there is no way he has as much as Van. Van’s undead charm might come into action as well. And let’s be fair, Van and Naofumi would be best friends.
Tejing
I haven’t watched most of these characters much, but yeah, Van and Naofumi probably would get along quite well.
Lord Rin
I guess they talked Van out of participating in the duel and kept Miles in.
Well it was kinda funny how Julianna is yelling at them to go for the knees. At least they aren’t using arrows otherwise Gordon would have to stop being an adventurer. Well he might have to give up being an adventurer anyways due to all the humiliation. He couldn’t beat a supposed random thug, he also got beat by a D rank girl adventurer despite being C rank and then got knocked the fuck out by a one-armed man.
Anyways Simon and Natania have gotten really skillful at using their prosthesis. They are completely metal instead of hollow so their hits should be breaking bones at least yet they are able to control their power so their hits only hurt a lot instead of breaking bones.
Meanwhile Van was somewhat able to notice Misa even if it was only just because of his intuition but either way, he is now aware that Murakami’s group is also nearby along with Hajime and the Flame Blades. Anyways it seems Misa was able to improve her Sylphid power a bit but it doesn’t seem like enough. Murakami’s group are too impatient. Sure they’ve waited two years but it seems they spent most of that time tracking Van’s movements instead of earnestly training their combat skills. They really want to just get this job of killing Van over with so they can get their promised blessed 4th life as a reward. Except for the Super Sense Kaoru who ended up thinking that this life isn’t so bad and so she ran away from Murakami’s group. Anyways I think at best Murakami’s group might be as strong as A rank adventurers and probably only as strong as B rank otherwise since as was mentioned, ever since they reached the Alrcem Duchy they haven’t fought anything because they’re afraid that the spirits of what they’ve killed would travel to Van and alert him and who knows how long they’ve been in the duchy. Meanwhile it’s like Murakami’s group are actively tempting fate since they know how Van recently killed a powerful Evil God yet they ignore it instead of going out to train more to get stronger and when they puzzle out that Van has access to a dungeon and the Evil God of Labyrinths Gufadgarn as an ally, they aren’t even trying to think of a plan to separate Van from her and his other allies who they should have knowledge that among them are also high A rank and S rank fighters. Also they are unconditionally believing everything Rodcorte says despite how he has shown he is NOT to be trusted. They seem to take it at face value that Rodcorte can deal with Van if they kill him despite them knowing Van is in a different circle of reincarnation that Rodcorte has no authority over and have presumably been warned by his Familiar Spirits about how he is not to be trusted and how incompetent he is.
Tejing
The arrow comment made me laugh 🙂
Do keep in mind that they don’t actually know Van is in a different circle of reincarnation. Their memories about the specifics of circles of reincarnation were removed when they reincarnated because, for whatever reason, all gods seem to agree that mortals mustn’t know about that.
It’s also not clear that the familiar spirits did anything to warn them that Rodcorte is not to be trusted. They did for Asagi’s group, but they bear a significant grudge toward Murakami’s group, so they might just let it be, hoping that they die smoothly and thus don’t make Van too worried about the future reincarnators.
The fact that they’re trying to capitalize on Fitun’s activities is actually pretty smart, and at least some evidence that they’re taking Van’s power seriously, though I think still not seriously enough.
Lord Rin
True Rodcorte’s Familiar Spirits hate Murakami’s group but they would probably still give them information and try to persuade them to not go against Van solely for the reason that they are afraid that their actions might make Van hostile towards the other Bravers that reincarnate later. They do have records of Van saying he doesn’t care about the Bravers and he won’t do anything to them if they leave him alone but they’re worried that Van might change his mind later especially because of how crappy people like Asagi and Murakami are. They’re still scared of what will happen when Perseus and Skanda regain their memories since Rodcorte purposely reincarnated them into situations that should have forced them into conflict with Van and they’re worried of how Van might perceive that and how it might apply to later Bravers. Also the only reason Van had even accepted Kanako’s group’s defection was because of the lengths they went to to show their non-hostility before Van gave a condition that they’d need to leave Rodcorte’s circle by either turning into one of Vida’s races or being guided by Van before he would allow them to live in Talosheim.
Tejing
If they could convince Murakami’s group not to attack Van at all, that would be best, but if that’s impossible (and they know it is at this point) then the next best thing would be for them to die easily, so Van continues to feel like he has a comfortable advantage and can afford to give future bravers the benefit of the doubt. The worst outcome for them would be if Murakami almost succeeds in killing Van, or if he succeeds in killing Van’s beloved subordinates, making him paranoid about future bravers so he hunts them down actively.
Superboy8338
Thanks for the update, Mr. Yoshi!!!
Nox
Thanks for the chapter.
Rodcortes plan is quite funny as we all know that it won’t ever work against the death god Van-sama. Ignoring the fact that Van-sama as acquired quite a few Demon King fragments his soul as recently been modified after being injured/damaged. Furthermore is his soul quite highly linked with Vidas/ Vidas system. Rodcorte is going to be quite disappointed but not because he won’t get Van-samas soul but Murakami and the rest will fail.
It’s quite nice that you shared your thoughts and experience with racism and I agree that it’s a very big issue nit just in U.S. but I think the social injustice is a bigger issue as most of the wealth is in the hands of quite a few individuals that leads to such issues/making them bigger. It would be nice if there policys made and enforced that would prevent the wealth landing in the hands of a few individuals but would be rather disturbed to the workers instead.
SaMu
There is. It’s called Capitalism. No to globalization and no to socialism. Wealth isn’t some resource that is hoarded by the rich. When cultivated, it grows. The rich become richer because the things they do work, not because they steal it from the poor. This is not the middle ages.
I’m sorry for the rant. If wealth is to be distributed, I want the beneficiaries to be thankful to those who worked hard for the things they enjoy. I want them to be grateful to the right people, not some punk who thinks they’re the best thing ever because they gave someone else’s stuff to people whose votes they need
Tejing
Accomplishing things is dang hard, and the bigger the thing, the harder it is. Under a reasonably free economy, people who can do that efficiently get put in charge of more resources. As far that goes, that’s a good thing for everyone. If people use illegal means to acquire those resources or cheat in that competition for efficiency, that’s another matter, but wealth inequality isn’t inherently a bad thing. If, for example, all the money in the world were equally distributed by some kind of universal mandate, the prosperity of the whole society would crash into the ground.
Superboy8338
Kind of funny that people are talking about my country’s racism issues when there are other countries in the world that have it worse than America.
ObserverBias
It’s not a competition? No one said it was. Just, currently, it’s something that’s reached a boiling point. Mind, Yoshi has mentioned as much in the statement provided.
Superboy8338
The world is a better place than it was before. That’s all I have to say.
mickeyduck
ok but it can still get a whole lot better
Oshibo
Ugh, I get you have good intentions Yoshi, but instead of helping all you are doing is contributing to sentencing a foreign nation to damnation. People don’t seem to realize that Racism isn’t the core issue here and the Black Lives Matter doesn’t value black lives in the least. What you probably didn’t know before making this uniformed post is that most deaths of black people in the USA is caused by other black people. The issue here is that the media fans the flames of the rarer cases of whites killing blacks, which causes people to act on emotion and not realize that the media is manipulating them. Ultimately what this manipulation is doing is dividing the country and there is no easier country to conquer than a country divided. We are too busy infighting due to this manipulation to fend off any threats.
Ultimately though I get not being able to see the big picture in this case because I am the kind of person that the people behind this act are. I care nothing about the lives of other humans and as long as it doesn’t negatively affect me I stay aloof from such matters. The reason I even bothered commenting is that this negatively affects me, I’m born and raised in the USA, if we are conquered than I am fucked.
SaMu
Move to South America, then. Oh wait they want to move to the US to eacape the corruption and the drugs. India, then, oh wait. Too much known for sexism. The middle-east? Too much known for sexism, indentured servitude, and racism. Europe? Too high up their horse to see that they been conquered again and their culture is swamped by the culture of foreign caliphate. China? Communist police state with imperialistic agenda. Japan? Nice place to visit, wouldn’t want to live there. Russia? Russia.
World right now is f*****! Stay in America
Tejing
Part of me really doesn’t want to engage this issue at all because I find the sensationalism surrounding it to be damaging, and I don’t want to add to that, but against my better judgement, here I go:
I agree that the core of the issue here is not racism, but that, for a variety of cultural, social, and economic reasons, black people (particularly young black men) kill one another a lot. Sensationalism and trying to shame white people for racism that, though it of course exists, is mostly not too bad, is really not helping. We need to face the difficult realities and tackle the hard questions of how to turn around a self-destructive culture. It isn’t easy. I understand wanting it to be as simple as “people should stop being racist” but that’s just not the core problem.
Also, a concept worth keeping in mind, especially right now: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rE3j_RHkqJc
Yoshi
Racism is something that is common to just about every country and I chose to address that.
Talking about the US specifically, there are a lot of factors that have made things into what they are now. I think that the current events are a symptom of deeper underlying causes. The fact that citizens own guns. The police brutality that is on a level that just isn’t seen in most other developed countries. The fact that a man like Trump is president. And no matter how much you downplay it, the racism towards black people that is so severe that black people literally fear for their lives in certain situations because of the color of their skin. If the US is being divided right now, there are reasons for that division. You can’t just say that division in the country is bad and people should ignore the media and pretend the issues don’t exist in order to avoid division.
Personally, the whole injustice of what happen to the people who are killed is what really bothers me, and yes, that does include all of the very unfortunate deaths that have happened in the protests. I guess this is something that someone who doesn’t care about other human lives wouldn’t understand.
But there’s no need to take my opinion too seriously. I’m just one guy.
Samhain
Yoshi the problem is that most of the issues plaguing the US are nuanced, which is why it so divides people. Depending on the information you have, and the experiences you have your opinions on this issue can vary wildly. EDIT: Didnt realize the guy who started this thread actually said he didnt care about peoples lives, completely justifies your last paragraph
Also you shouldn’t devalue yourself Yoshi, every individual is unique, which is why we so morn all those who lose their lives.
DragonkingKyo
Yoshi one I don’t know why you brought guns into this as it has nothing to do with it even in countries without guns doesn’t stop mass killings they either still get guns or use different weapons hell in places of the US that allow open carry without strong gun control laws it is safer and has less crime because of it. As for Trump under him race relations especially with blacks were getting better then with Obama they were getting worse but now the Media are trying so hard to cause division or make it worse that it is disgusting.
Yoshi I feel you are going most of your info from the leftist news and leftist social media sites who have been proven time and time again to be lying or not covering about what has been really happening here in the US the Racism towards black people isn’t anywhere near as severe as you seem to think it is same with Trump he cares about Americans no matter the skin color it is illegal immigrants(not legal ones) that he has a problem with as they break the laws to get into the country.
No one is pretending racism doesn’t exist but rioting and hurting other is just going to make that worse. As for police brutality before the rioting started most no matter what side of the politics they were on agreed the cops were in the wrong, but instead of doing all the shit they are doing now which is hurting the black community just as much as any other they should have focused on calling for reforming the police asking for better and longer training an harsher punishments for if they commit a crime(like the military). But instead of doing like they are letting crazies use their protest to cause death and destruction
Yoshi
I don’t even know what “leftist” means. I’m not speaking from a “leftist” perspective, I’m speaking from the perspective of someone who isn’t an American.
From the perspective of a non-American, US gun laws are absurd and it is absurd that the world watches horrific school shootings take place there over and over, and yet gun laws don’t change. For comparison, in New Zealand, gun laws were changed within the week after the mosque shooting last year.
From the perspective of a non-American, Trump is a mentally unstable man who has no business being president, and it is astounding that a non-insignificant number of American people still support him. His recent clearing of protesters for a photo op, and the non-stop stream of absolute insanity that comes from his Twitter, shows that. Also, claiming that Trump isn’t a racist is hard when he was literally fined for refusing to rent apartments to black people. Unless there is proof that he has changed, I’m not buying it.
I think statements like “Racism towards black people isn’t anywhere near as severe as you seem to think it is” is the literal definition of white privilege. You can’t make statements like this on behalf of all the black people out there.
I don’t agree with the violent rioting/looting either. But the protesters wanting a change in their country, and the rioters/looters, are not the same people. As far as I’m aware, most of the protesters are peaceful, and the rioters/looters are not interested in helping the cause.
Now as a non-American I am fully aware that I might not understand all of the nuanced details behind the situation. I’m not claiming to be super well-informed when it comes to American politics. But you should also be aware that my views are shared by the vast, vast majority of non-Americans – it’s like common sense for us. And we find the civilian-gun-supporting, Trump-supporting American viewpoint, which defies the common sense that we know, very difficult to understand.
I’m not going to comment on the topic any further because I’ve already spoken my thoughts and I don’t see this discussion going anywhere.
DragonkingKyo
leftist is a term used for democrats(especially ones with crazy policies which are called far left) or the few socialist here and the right is use for republicans(an the crazy one on this side are called far right). White privilege means “inherent advantages possessed by a white person on the basis of their race in a society characterized by racial inequality and injustice.” so making a statement like I did doesn’t make it white privilege, Also all race have somethings you could call a “privilege”(though I don’t like use the word as it is stupid) like how black can have an easier chance to get into college even if there grades aren’t good enough because of there skin color while Asians have a harder time despite having better grades just to make room for the blacks(in the US) now this isn’t the blacks fault but the colleges and government.
But fact you use white privilege was enough prove for me that you get your info from the left side who mostly either straight up lie or exaggerate things which there is a lot of prove to this so I hope you look into things deeper and at least see the other side of thing though from what I seen you write on the comments I don’t have much hope for that. As I said I know you are trying the right thing but the Black Live Matter movement isn’t pure the cause is good but the group has being tainted with racist who say things like kill all white even kids and with people like that in it an they don’t disavow these people and say they don’t speak for all of them but they don’t and I can’t trust my money actual being use for good by them.
I do wish for a world with out racism but you using the word white privilege just to somehow say my statement is wrong and saying “You can’t make statements like this on behalf of all the black people out there” which I wasn’t saying anything on behalf of anyone as I was stating a fact and right now in the US those with the most racism directed to them for the past several years is the whites. In fact using the word white privilege against someones or what they said instead of debunking what they said feels racist in and of itself and I would feel the if someone said you can’t say this or that because it is your black(or Asian, Arab, etc) pivilege.
Funky K
Let me add on a story for you. A former roommate of mine who lives in Chicago (who is a liberal democrat) told me that the riots were close to where he lives with his wife and newborn. He could see the fires from his house and called 911 to find out if his neighborhood was safe. The 911 operator told him there are no units available to help him and if he felt he was in danger he should run. They pretty much told him he’s on his own. Now the protestor, mayor and governor are saying they wish to abolish the police force. Him and his wife are terrified out of their minds, they don’t have the money to move or the time to find new work( and of course pay for the baby birth bills). I heard from him that the gun stores that sell weapons and ammunition were picked clean in just a few days. This guy who said he would never vote for trump told me that Trump has to win and has already bought a rifle. I feel that these protest and riots will only achieve the opposite of what they’re meant for.
Breloom
You don’t have the full information of the protest. They don’t wish to abolish the police, they wish to “dismantle” them. Most police department here in the US get an average 1 billion for a budget every year, then most of it goes toward militarization. Hell, there was even a school resource officer who got approved for a Bazooka. “Dismantling” the police just refers to to taking some of the funding away and moving it to area that need it such a urban development and putting schools on a level playing field. Any person could tell you some form of policing is necessary, especially in Chicago which is in the top 10 for crime rate in the US. Also your story just exemplified part of the problem guns are way too easy to get here in the US, I could go to the flea market literally down the street from me, no more than 5 minutes away by foot, and get an AR-15. Your friend lives in Chicago too you can get shot for being on your front porch in that city. It’s sad to say but being scared during the riots is no difference than being scared everyday there you might get hit by a drive by or something. The protester and the rioter/looters are two completely different things. If you look up the news the protesters actively go out their way to stop and detain looters/rioters and some come back to rebuild what was destroyed.
Funky K
I agree 100% that the education system in the USA is broken and needs to be reformed. I also agree that major cities have budgeting issues, but the only ones who know what that budget looks like is the cities financing directors. The average person has never seen everything that taxes are being spent on, nor would they understand if they saw the balance sheets. The people at the top will just tell you they’re going to spend money or move it and that’s all the info you get. As for guns, they’re not as easy to buy as you think they are. The process is a bit more complicated depending on what state you live in. For humors sake try asking a gun shop the process needed.
Finally, please watch this video when you have the time. Whether you like it, hate it, find it interesting or understand it, please watch the whole thing. It’s just food for your thoughts. I personally thought it was an interesting take about the protest.
Edit: this video is PG-13 has no gore, no sex.

Wow, last time I posted this was November. No real updated, but posting it just so the data isn’t lost and since it looks like I’m going to have to move some of the people on the list to the souls destroyed category pretty soon.
Van’s soul is now part of Vida’s reincarnation system, and hes practically a living god so I wonder if Rodcorte would have as easy of a time defeating a dead Van as they are hoping.

>”Van’s soul is now part of Vida’s reincarnation system, and hes practically a living god so I wonder if Rodcorte would have as easy of a time defeating a dead Van as they are hoping.”
if i recall, info regarding the reincarnation systems are removed as they get reincarnated, e.g Kanako using Venus bypassing the memory erasure to suggest assimilation into Vida’s race without knowledge of Vida’s transmigration circle
yet another indication of Rodcorte’s manipulative shenanigans. Murakami and co. are giga-fucked, used as a kamikaze pawn by Rodcorte after Rikudou lol rip

More white people are killed each year by cops then black people. Per percent of the population more black people are killed then white people, but per arrests more white people are killed by cops then black people. Basically if you are getting arrested as a white person you have more of a chance of being killed then a black person.
SaMu
To which it does not neccessarily diminish what was said by Yoshi. Racism is backward thinking. But I do agree that the issue of racism isn’t exclusive to blacks. For example, the skin color most targeted by hate and belittlement in US for the past decade is white. I hate tribalism. I hate racism. But I also hate victimhood and this tribalism being blatantly endorsed by people with influence
Entropy
Great new chapter. Glad to see Gordon got wiped out. As for Misa, she should leave Vand alone since he is one of the few that can detect her. I would disappear. She felt nervous from seeing two noobs and miles start fighting an idiot. No offense to the new adventurers under Vand, but they are probably the weakest fighters Vand has access to. As for a world without racism, I would love to see that, but sadly I doubt it will come to pass. No matter how much we try to be equal to each other, there will always be jerks who believe that they are more equal than others.
Metazoxan
Exactly.
At this point I feel the fight against racism is causing more harm than the racism itself. The media turns every incident into a matter of racism without investigation. As a result the divide increases and friction between groups worsen. Then you have these “vigilante” groups within BLM harassing or attacking white people without realizing what they are doing is racism as well.
The better way to fight racism is to just move past it. Stop seeing people as “them vs us” just because of some pointless crap like skin color or nation of Origin. Just stop bothering with it and when people do try to be racist just treat them like every other kind of hateful asshole and move on.
This obession with getting rid of racism is only making things worse because ultimately you can’t stop it completely. You can’t make people who think that way just not think that way. Plus there is the issue with media making everything about race even when it’s not. If we just stopped doing that people could relax more.
Funky K
The last time the BLM movement was significantly active in the USA was during the previous election year in America 4 years ago. The movement died down after a black man Micah Johnson ambushed and fired upon a group of police officers in Dallas, Texas, killing five officers and injuring nine others. Johnson was an Army Reserve Afghan War veteran and was angry over police shootings of black men and stated that “he wanted to kill white people, especially white police officers”. There have already been 17 (confirmed) death during this years BLM movement in just 2 weeks alone and hopefully no more innocences will have to die.
Tejing
This is why I’m very leery of the sensationalism around these kind of movements. They end up dividing people even more and adding to the violence. We need an atmosphere of understanding and working together to solve hard problems, not anger and blame.
Paps
thanks Yoshi for your thoughs and your effort with the translation. All lifes matter, not onely from one single race. Now to the chapter: “The knees! You must be thorough in attacking the knees!” – is that you sensei John Kreese? That line made me remeber the original Karate Kid.
Ozarazil
Wait wait wait, the momment he dies Rodcorte will take care of him? Didn’t Vandal get out of his circle of transmigration the momment he was born as a Damphir? I believe him being a part of Vida’s races puts his soul outside of Rodcorte’s authority since Vida has her own circle of transmigration.
If I remember it correctly that’s the reason Alda nor Rodocorte couldn’t keep monsters from appearing in the dungeons and devil’s nest, thanks to Guduranis also creating his circle of transmigration for monsters…
I still find hard to see the reincarnated individuals as a threat seeing how resourcefull Vandal is or how insanely overpowered his SSS legendary monster army is hahaha
Tejing
As I understand it, Rodcorte’s authority is reincarnation. Even if someone is outside his system, his power as a god is usable for purposes relating to reincarnating them. (We saw before that Vida was able to steal Van’s soul despite it not belonging to her system at the time) However I do question whether this would actually go so smoothly, firstly because unlike before, Vida would surely be watching out for such a thing and ready to intervene, but secondly because Van is a demigod now, and thus probably outside the bounds of any normal reincarnation cycle, so the authority might not even work at all.
Lord Rin
Well the only reason Vida was able to steal Van’s soul was because of how careless Rodcorte is. He basically just threw Van’s soul to Lambda and never even looked at it so it was left unattended and unwatched during his transit between worlds so Vida was able to hijack it between worlds. It seems that souls are most vulnerable when traveling worlds and any god can interfere at that point like what happened with the Eighth Guidance when the god of Origin intercepted their souls before they went to Rodcorte’s Divine Realm. However Van isn’t in Rodcorte’s circle of reincarnation so even if he dies, his soul wouldn’t be travelling between worlds so Rodcorte can’t steal it while in transit which would be the only time it could possibly be vulnerable and that’s not counting that other gods like Vida would be watching out for Van’s soul anyways just in case or that Van would just insta-turn into an undead so his soul never even leaves his body.
Metazoxan
Vida was only able to snatch Van’s soul because Rodcorte had set it to auto pilot. Meaning once Van left his divine realm it was out of his hands and she intercepted it from there.
Rod can’t do the same unless he came down himself because he won’t be able to snipe anything before others get in the way especially since he’d be doing so outside of his divine realm.
gomezseba37
Vans soul is not even a normal soul at this point not only is he on vidas reincarnation system and an ally of vida wich is now recovering power he himself is able to materialize his soul by his own will not only would he turn into an undea instantaneously rodcorte would not be able to do anything ricklent and zuruwan are probably on guard to at least stop him a few seconds just a few seconds is all van needs to world pierce the heck out of rodcorte it doesent matter how powerfull he is he would at least recive some damage from that
Haraken
So Vida could only steal Van’s soul because Rodcorte wasn’t on high alert? Then what about chapter 202 when she grabbed Van’s soul AGAIN when he was in a death-like state with the body he was attached to being destroyed(granted not his original, but I do question how the system would even differentiate that state from a death state as his soul was even in a worst state than a normal death with it being in pieces) while being in ALDA’s territory(his own pseudo-dungeon). Pretty sure at that point Rodcorte was not only on high alert, but in a cooperative relationship with Alda.
If anything Rodcorte could nab souls like normal, there would probably be no issue, but the normal for that would be for him to have no competition whatsoever with Vida being half in a coma with giant nails that skewer her body for millennia.
Ozarazil
Oh but as I remember it the reason he wants Vandal dead is because he guides people out of Rodochode’s circle of reincarnation to Vida’s producing bugs in his.
If he has absolute authority over souls why doesn’t he just take them back to his system once they are dead instead of killing Vandal? If he can’t why not look for some sort of script that keeps people in his circle even after being guided. If Vandal can find a solution to this Alda would lose Rodocum as an ally because he wouldn’t have a reason to kill Vandal anymore.
Besides Vandal, none of the reincarnated individuals have made any progress towards Lambda’s development Wich was their main mission before. I think Rodumbcorte definitely would want to keep Van alive if this happens.
Ltshrek
Won’t work coz ricklent and zuruwarn is there + the spears that scumlda is no more and she’s gaining more believer coz of van tho even if shitcorte manage to do it that’s just mean killing himself
Dyneamaeus
Van is still technically a reincarnated individual under Rodcortes authority. Because of the curses Van can still be yoinked out of Vida’s homemade system, and as a god of souls, even if Van might be strong enough to combat him, Rodcorte is stronger in pure God-might than Alda. Upon his death Van would be alone, in a realm Rodcorte can manipulate at will, and stuck struggling against the strongest god in the series, with nothing but his soul. He wouldn’t even have access to mana.
And don’t forget when Zuruwarn briefly struggled against Roddie, the power difference meant he could do no more than bite Rod-den-dummies hand. Zuruwarns form is at least slightly bigger than Van’s soul form since he carried Van in his mouth. So not only would van be a soul fighting the God of souls, he’d be like the size of a rodent in comparison to Rodcorte.
Tejing
There’s a saying I once heard that seems to apply here: It’s hard to argue with facts as carefully chosen as these.
It feels like you’re interpreting every remotely ambiguous issue as far in Roddy’s favor as theoretically possible. Almost every sentence of this, while I can’t say for certain it’s absolutely wrong, feels like a massive stretch.
Dyneamaeus
Oh absolutely. Mostly I just wanted to point out that, on paper, Van dying would put Road-o-quarts in an advantageous position, and point out that Van being a reincarnator might leave him in Rodeo-clown’s influence. I chose very specific things that are absolutely in Rodiots favor because they are unquestionably in his favor. I tried to avoid brushing up on all the reasons he’d still lose that fight regardless. Each point, while I believe to be true, has a direct counterpoint that ruins it.
Rodcart is probably bigger and stronger than Van -> he also has no talent for combat and Van’s opponents are always bigger than him.
Rodencotton is the god of souls -> Van’s soul is full of DK bits and might not strictly be a human soul anymore.
Van would have no mana -> he wouldn’t need any to use soul destruction fighting.
Van would be trapped in Rod’n’co’s divine realm -> Rodentcorpse would be within vengeance distance of Van.
Vandalieu is, at the end, the protagonist. A respectable, goal oriented, hard working one at that. Spite-ning rod characters like Rhododendron aren’t going to actually win, no matter how they stack the deck.
gomezseba37
No. he would have mana he actally tried to attack rodcorte at the start so that means he can use his magic in the divine realm and also when he destroyed aldas authority he was in vidas divine realm if i had to guess divine realms are like dungeons but without an entrance only the god in quieston can make the entrance appear and it would make sense since zuruwan was able to peek into rodcortes divine realm just warping space
Dyneamaeus
Ah, good point, he did try something in chap 0, and i mistakenly thought the Bravers couldn’t use mana in his realm, when in reality they just didn’t. Nice catch.
Darkhelios
I believe that “the moment Vandalieu die, Rodcorte will take care of him” is just their own delusion. It’s the same with “If Vandalieu becomes an undead, we will run away”… After all, running away from Vandalieu doesn’t seem to be very realistic, right?
gomezseba37
They simply dont grasp the extent of his power they mentioned he killed the god of joyfull life like he made a lemon pie in his free time.
the gods of that world and even heroes tried to kill him for 100 thousand years is not a small archivement even if they have the strenght of S rank adventurers (and i think that is being generous as fuck) its not going to be enough he fought ALONE against heinz party that already knew a lot of his powers and slughtered them they simply have no chance against him and if he is with 2 or 3 allies they are as good as dead
Lord Rin
I think it’s Rodcorte’s own delusion too. He thinks he can do something to Van once he dies despite knowing better that he isn’t in his circle and isn’t moving between planets or reincarnation circles so he can’t snatch his soul while in transit.
Haraken
Yeah especially when Vida currently has a perfect tracking record with collecting Van’s soul when in trouble in chapter 202, despite it being in Alda territory. Granted the only other time was at the beginning of the story with Rodcorte being un-alerted, but at the same time she was in a half comatose state with skewers impaling her and stealing all her powers.
gomezseba37
Rodcorte cant do shit against van we saw how ricklent and zuruwan managed to steal the souls of legion with the help of the gods of origin.
so even if van soul is exposed all of the ally gods would do something I doesent matter if rodcorte is powerfull as fuck even him cant go against that combo and all of this is asuming they manage to bullshit their way into killing vans physical body
DragonkingKyo
Author I agree about the to a world without racism but it isn’t as bad(not saying it isn’t there) in the US as the news and social media make it out to be as they try to make everything about race/racism these days which is disgusting and hurts race relations. I don’t know about the others but there has be nothing to show George Floyd or Ahmaud Arbery death is because of racism and some(not all) of the people of Black Lives Matter are racist themselves(toward whites mostly) some have said some crazy shit like kill white people(even kids) or cops(there are black cops to you know) so I don’t really support any movement no matter how good it seem to be for if it shown to have crazy people like that in it. Also I would like for all this rioting(not protesting) crap to stop as it isn’t helping much and is instead causing more harm them good(more have die because of it) especially to the black community as a lot of the places they are destroying(at first before it spread) were owned or for them.
Also I would like to bring attention to a victim of these stupid riots which is a black man named David Dorn former police chief 77 years old who was killed(shot) trying to protect a friend pawn shop that he sometimes worked at over f*cking TVs the people is the surveillance video of the pawn shop were all black and at least two had a handgun which is why I feel the rioting and looting needs to be stopped as it helps the protest that could help get things start to make police better trained and have more accountability for there actions.
As for me all lives matter no matter the skin color and racism happens to all races even white(though it seem a lot of people refuse to believe that) and if there was a movement for that I would support it,
Funky K
Is anyone going to mention how the same media was demonizing people for not social distancing, having them reported, arrested and calling them murderers only a couple of weeks ago are now telling everyone to f*ck it and go out and riot as if covid didn’t exist? Poof covid is gone I guess?
FrogAku
Heinz (DragonKing)! How did you reverse isekai into our forums?!?!?!! Damn you, I knew this would happen one day. Seriously, we knew you were using your false, bigoted sense of moral superiority to abuse our favorite Van and all like, but never new you would spread to another world.
For you have always been such, claiming as a member of Alda’s faction that ‘all lives matter’, of course that was as long as they were member’s of Alda’s races. Or when you joined the moderate faction, and amended that to saying that the lives of all races mattered, as long as they weren’t of monster descent, or undead, or slaves, or used demon king fragments, or had justifiable claims against you, or [ 3 pages of exceptions and footnotes omitted for brevity ].
And of course, if your victims came to you and told you of your crimes, in front of others who might be had been taken in by your clever omissions, you resort to claims of justification, that the ends justify the means, and that anyway, it doesn’t matter that Van has every right to take vengence for himself and his mother, so you attack those that speak against your exceptionalism. You claim that your actions to support Alda’s church in becoming *more* openminded absolve you of any responsibility for any of the other races that share your same right to live and seek happiness.
And of course, you soothe yourself at night, when the honest doubts (if you can be bothered to have any) with the thoughts that as you allow the slaughter of innocent ghoul women and children, that they are violent against people and kill and slaughter adventures that sneak into their homes to rape and kill them. That the violence done against those of Vida’s races is only a response to their own violence.
So Heinz (DragonKing), I speak to you again, get yourself gone from these forums, you are NOT welcome here. We who cheer for Van in his efforts to gain recognition for those who have been, and remain hated and mistreated for the supposed sin of being different, do NOT want or NEED your excuses as to why your hate is righteous and just. And one day we hope you will finally realize that you are, and always have been wrong, in a world where a greater justice prevails.
Until that hopeful day.
FrogAku
I see many people willing to down vote my remark, but cannot refute it. I remind you all, that while you sit behind a shield of white privilege where you can claim nothing is wrong because you are never troubled by cops and vigilantes, it doesn’t mean you’re correct. You are EXACTLY like Heinz (at best) who follows the rules he’s been told are just and the truth, and never, ever dare to consider that the otherside has a point or a right to be angry. I hope that one day you, and Heinz, truly reflects on all your have done and said up to this point, because I’m hoping to save you, because I think there’s hope for you. But perhaps you’ll prove me wrong, and find yourself tiny broken shards of beings or souls too fragile and too rigid to survive in an evolving world.
Hasin
Ah.. yes… the FAMOUS white privillege.
Just so you know, NOT everyone here is american, and we’re tired of american issues being exported in our countries.
Don’t know for the US, but it doesn’t exist where I live.
I’ve been beaten for my color skin, just as I’ve seen white people being beaten for their color skins.
I grew up in a poor neigberhood where most white people had far less money than blacks and arabs.
I’ve seen disrespectful white and being arrested equally by the police.
Strangely enough, most of these blacks and arabs didn’t made it out of this place while I did. Maybe because I worked hard to get a good education?
Maybe because I didn’t acted like a jerk when a police officer came to speak to me?
personnally they gave me my employment and refused other candidate because they were white. so long for their privilege right?
But hey, my personnal experience isn’t relevant, right? what’s count is that you propagate hatred. I’ve seen TOO MANY fellows promoting violence and murder against white without any good reason. and you’re doing the same. “well there had been bad thing on their behalf, so it’s ok”.
if that’s your Idea of the world evolving, I would have prefered to be born into slavery. Or even not born at all.
At this rate you’ll just all do the same thing that they have done in the past. And you dare to call the other guy “heinz”? please.
DragonkingKyo
for one you say white privilege why do you think I am white?(I am mixed but look mostly white but find the excuse “white privilege” a shitty excuse that people with nothing good or reasonable to say use) I find it funny you think whites never have trouble with the cops every race does as cops aren’t only white as any race can be a cop. To me you seem to be the one like Heinz after read all you wrote and you seem to be projecting yourself on me.
I have no problem with the protest but I do have a problem with the riots, looting and killing that happens during it. An Black Lives Matter in and of itself isn’t bad but there are a good amount that talk about kill(even kids) and other shit and are racist themselves which is bad so I would never fund them unless they come out and disavow said people say they don’t agree with them or support people like that. Blacks aren’t the only ones that are wrongfully killed by cops it happens to whites and all the other races too but you rarely if ever see it on the news.
Well I have said all I want to say if people want to donate to them that is fine but I won’t as I don’t trust them to use it for good thing as it has already been shown(caught) that some members have been bring weapons and gas cans to the protest(more like riots) so I can’t and won’t fund that even if it is only a small number of them doing it(which I can’t be sure of) I won’t risk my money being spent on shit like that to hurt people or destroy there livelihood and homes.
Tejing
It honestly doesn’t matter what your points are here. You’re being downvoted for directing unrestrained hatred at someone over an ideological disagreement. That’s completely unacceptable behavior, regardless of whether your points are right or wrong. This is what I was afraid of as soon as Yoshi posted what he did. Fortunately, you seem to be pretty much the only one so far. I really hope we can all keep our heads above water on this.
VEreality
I am a white man from Romania and I have to say that I never understood what this whole white privillege is about. We never had this kind of problems here. I have never, as long as I could remember, heard about such hateful actions taking place anywhere near where I grew up.
I, however, have been treated with racism when I had to live in Italy for a year. During that time I had been beaten, humiliated and ignored for my nationality. I am not trying to gain pity by saying all of this. But I want you to know that I had been in your shoes.
Please stop saying that being racist is connected to being white. This is a problem with the community in which you live or grew not a world wide fact about white people.
SaMu
First off, you called the other guy a bigot and a racist. That was reason enough to get the downvotes. Secondly, your tirade centered on the other guy claiming All Lives Matter, which is sensible claim, and you personally didn’t like that. Thirdly, you unilaterally tried to have him kicked out of the forum. You don’t own this place. If this was a bar, you’d be the drunk patron looking for a fight. Debates and discussions are welcome, soliciting for fights are not. Also, you called him Heinz. That’s just low.
matthewskiller00
OK
LygarX
there are global conspiracies out there that you are better not knowing about. like how many donations that go towards improving lives in African Countries get funneled towards funding warlords. or how PETA claims to help animals but use their donation money to steal pets and kill them and send out propaganda. The Pink Ribbon Cancer donation group aka Susan G Komen uses their funds to sue other groups collecting money to fight cancer and barely a small fraction of donation even goes towards cancer research and most of it goes towards making their leaders richer. The BLM is no different. George died in a democrat controlled state with a democrat mayor, governor, senators, representatives. Conveniently sparking a race war and riots and having the BLM trend during the summer prior to an election. Right after Biden screwed up and said something racist towards a black person by saying that non-supporters that do not vote for him are not black. Racism is a tool for powerful people to control the populace. identity politics at work here. Political Parties are a very dangerous thing.
Funky K
When an Islamic terrorist blew up children in Manchester UK, the media said to “not look back in anger”, but when a bad cop unjustly kills a man in America people thousands of miles away in different counties are mad? This isn’t strange?
Tejing
Yes, yes it is.
Azuroth
Thank you for the Chapter Yoshi!
And as an African American myself in the US I just want to say thank for your support and all those who like you support the movement for a better future were there is no racism.

Thank for the chapter Yoshi. So Murakami’s group is planning on making their move soon, and somehow use hajime’s group with their plan. If they were smart, they would lay low longer and try to gather more fighting strength to put up more of a fight. Can’t wait to see what happens to the group later on.
gomezseba37
They probably dont grasp van fighting capabilities the world piercing hollow cannon can probably put a hole through rodcorte or even alda and he can shot it like 7 times without running out of mana they simply have no chance
Kiriaru
I’m glad our translator isn’t a fool either. I wish more of my friends were like Yoshi and could understand and support the black people that live and suffer unjustly in America.
Thanks for your hard work and thank you for sharing your thoughts, and thank you again for helping the cause.
Superboy8338
Sadly, racism is still a thing in America, but we’re not SUFFERING. From were I see things, things may not be perfect, but it sure is a hell of a lot better than it was back then.
mickeyduck
i mean, of course racism is a lot better, slavery’s been abolished, people can vote and all that good stuff. but we’ve recently taken a few steps backwards tbh
VEreality
Hey Yoshi. I know that this might not mean a lot but I might as well say this:
You are wonderful as you are and you have always been. The same could be said about any person in this chat or even a random person on the street. Racism is an ugly thing. One of the worst things humanity ever gave birth to. It targets anything that is out of the norms. Your skin color, your nationality, your religion and even the region you were born in. Anything.
To you and any person that is reading this: If there is anyone telling you that you can’t be something. If there is anyone telling you that you are less than the others. If there is anyone who is treating you like you are an eyesore to them. All because you were born in a certain way.
FUCK’EM!!!!
Focus on those that accept you as you are because at the end of the day they are the ones that matter.
And don’t you dare listen to their words. They are the ones who are unable to accept someone who is different.
mexgema
Wait, did I miss something? I thought Van was going to fight in the duel! I wanted to see Gordon turn into ground beef! Wasn’t Van-sama going to take Jesse’s place?
Lord Rin
I think they managed to talk him out of it.
mexgema
Then why wasn’t that mentioned?
Kettern
Thank you for the chapter, as always, and thank you for talking about your own experiences.
Tejing
Jessie’s interested in the artificial limbs… she’s never going to leave Van alone now. New apprentice I suppose?
I’m glad Van noticed Misa hanging out… knowing him, he’ll over-prepare beyond anything Murakami’s group imagined and totally crush them, though I’m not sure that’s even necessary. They seem to be seriously underestimating his raw fighting strength even though they’re scared of his strange abilities like Abyss.
Also, even if they did kill him, now that he’s a demigod I do have to question whether he would fall under Rodcorte’s authority like they think. Plus they’re totally ignoring the likely interference of Vida and her allies even if he did.
VEreality
I have adressed this when Van became a demigod. As we stand right now, we belive that Van is now outside of Rodiot’s authority. He is now divinity himself.
Irazori
I thought Van can’t be affected due to Vida snatching his soul into her cycle, or does that incompetent God have jurisdiction on souls in general?
VEreality
I think he still had some power over his soul at some point but that is no longer the case. And we do know that the idiot wanted to abandon Lamba so it’s sure to say that he is aware that this whole thing is waaaaaayyyy out of his control.
Lord Rin
He was never under Rodcorte’s authority. He has no power over souls that are part of either Vida’s or the Demon King’s circle of reincarnation. Rodcorte for some stupid reason might believe he still has power over him but he doesn’t and his belief is completely unfounded.
Ltshrek
They probably don’t know he’s a demigod now that’s why they’re that confident that shitcorte will manage to take him before van made himself to an undead tho what’s more funny is that they underestimating van and his allies too much *I mean borkus and gufadgarn alone could handle them easily* also, he “killed”a god that alone is enough for these dumbshit to start thinking whether they really want to fight van or not
Darkhelios
Technically they don’t want to fight Vandalieu (they already know that he’s too strong). They just want to kill him. That’s something far easier to do. All we need to do, is take a look at our own History in order to confirm this: Quite a lot of powerful individual (kings, queens… etc) were killed by using poison, or with a single strike in a vital spot, or…etc…
Of course, most of those methods won’t work on Vandalieu (Danger Sense: Death is a thing) and they probably know it. However Fitun’s attack might give them an opportunity to strike Vandalieu while he’s busy. After all they don’t know that Vandalieu easily destroyed Hihiryushukaka so they might think that it will still be a difficult or long fight for Vandalieu.
Also: It’s quite funny to see that the “teacher” and leader Murakami is the dumbest of their group… I mean… He thinks that he will be able to run away Vandalieu if Van becomes an undead and wants a second round!
Lord Rin
That isn’t really easy to do on Lambda. They need to be able to do an attack that does enough damage to go through both an opponent’s defense and vitality stats all in one go. If Murakami’s group had high levels in a skill or better yet an awakened skill then they could possibly do a one-shot kill but they clearly don’t because they don’t want to spend so long on this world in order to get enough experience to raise their skill levels.
